Its mostly standing room only and a pretty small room so if you want to be right near the stage then getting in line early is a must. An early dinner is probably best with plans on being in line around 5PM or so. If you have no desire to be in the front of the room then there is no big hurry to get in line that early because every spot is a great view at the Fillmore....even the very back!

We are going to have dinner in Japan Town which is right next door at a little place called Isobune. Its mostly sushi placed on little boats that circle around a large oval table with the sushi chefs in the middle. Kind of a fun place with lots of large sapporo and ashai beers. Its a 5 minute walk to the Fillmore.

Of course this is just one idea....... :)

Well I think I am going to head straight there...I get off work in hayward around 3:10. Its about an hour there, so I guess I should just go straight there. We can always have fun in line.

Done, and you've got mail. :) Which you've probably already read by now. Just remember: Mine is the house with the Conch Republic flag flying out front. There aren't many of those in Northern CA.

...and for everyone else: Remember: Pre-concert show and party at the Bistro (http://www.the-bistro.com), 1001 B St. in Hayward, Wednesday night (the night before Jimmy), starting around 8:30. Yours truly will be raising some Parrothead-style heck, and I'll probably have a couple of friends visiting and sharing the stage here and there.

Oh, and if any Reefers are readin' this and in need of something to do Wednesday night in the Bay Area...come on down! :) If you just want to sit in the corner and enjoy the excellent selection of craft beers, we'll be mellow and let you. :pirate: After all, it *is* your night off.

Either way...we'll see you Thursday night. :D

And remember: We're also doing things for a good cause. (http://www.411gina.org)

How far is The Bistro from the Filmore? Sounds like a great time but we will not have a car.

Wish we could be there on Wednesday - my birthday! Whoo-hoo! However, that's the night my husband returns from a week-long business trip and we're going to be home as a family. (We have two little keets - can't go hanging out at a bar with them.)

Guess we'll see you all in the line.

<---- I look like that. (only I won't have my keet with me.)
With a little love and luck, we'll take the sky!

The Bistro is a nice two-block walk from the Hayward BART station. BART runs until midnight or so; you would take one train from downtown SF to Bayfair, and then transfer to a second train and go one exit further south. Transit information in the Bay Area can always be had at http://www.511.org.

You mentioned in an earlier post that you're staying at the Hotel Britton, which the Web says is around Mission and 7th. You'd walk up 7th to Market and get on BART at the Civic Center station, I think. BART is a fairly safe way of getting around the Bay Area. Your walk back from BART to the Britton might take you past some homeless folks though.

The show starts late enough (8:30ish) that you could catch an early dinner in the City and come over, or you could come to Hayward earlier and eat someplace like Buffalo Bill's, a microbrewery with very nice food about a block away from the Bistro.

If all this sounds like too much work, I'll understand.

I'd suggest a cab for your ride to the Fillmore on Thursday night; it's too far to walk, and MUNI can be less than fully reliable.

Hope this helps, and I hope to meet you either way.

To all you lucky ticket holders, have a great time. Still trying to play the ticketmaster game. Day of sale, got in about a minute after ten but struck out. Have been trying since then and will keep trying till Thursday. Try, Try, Try or should that be Cry, Cry Cry. Worst case, will make the trip up Thursday and see if we can come up with a couple tickets. If you haven't been to Fillmore before, don't worry when that floor starts bouncing. Not an earthquake, just a thousand plus parrotheads in full party mode. Enjoy. Aloha, nui loa.

Hey Nor Cal,

Aloha shirt, shorts, and flip flops. Won't be too hard to see. Yeah ,
right . Also the ever present blue baseball cap from margaritaville, South Carolina. Crescent moon and Palmetto in front, Margaritaville, Charleston in the back. We are also about 38 miles South of ATT park.

Will do, Mason. I am in the serious sleep depravation stage. Up all night the last few nights checking ticketmaster. Off work the next few days so in between my painting chores around the house, I have been a regular at the Ticketmaster sight. Also watching the brokers. Some have lowered prices a little bit, but still way out of sight.

I'll be the one walking around asking folks if they'd like to have this much fun in the Bay Area all year 'round. :D

Speaking of which...last night's show at the Bistro was definitely a good time, and we had a few intrepid souls show up to start the pre-concert festivities early.

See y'all tonight,

Loren
