Not Famous Yet wrote:The speaker issue was very unexpected from a professional production. It sounded a lot like interference caused by GSM Cell Phones- (

So Everybody on the phone makes for a bad experience?

In My Room was beautiful and Fruitcakes (especially the opening when he talked about a local taco maker) was brilliant.
However, there were many negatives to this show.
I'm surprised that no one commented that Irvine's security forcibly kept people in the amphitheater for 10 minutes after the show so Jimmy could leave the amphitheater without a hassle. Thousands of people were getting agitated and chanting to get out - all so Mr. Buffett was not incovenienced and could get to his party or whatever.
The fact that he did not know it was Saturday (mentioned it was Friday as well as Thursday at the concert) is indicative of the level of effort put into the show.
And finally, I don't know about you, but I find the canned intro to Volcano with Mr. Utley and his constantly kicking beachballs at Mac to be just stupid.

This was something to read... we had thought that the Thursday night April '06 concert was SO good, that we had sort of decided never to do another-- unless he does another down island where we can get to it from our island. And then, Saturday, Jimmy (my Jimmy) came in early from Port of Spain, (we never even tried to get Irvine tix this fall cause he wasn't s'posed to return from T & T 'til today) we're in OC for a couple weeks now, and we thought, well, maybe, should we? Should we go on line and see if anyone has some to sell?... well--- but there was the jet lag, and so we thought No, we'll just go up the canyon to the Cantina and hang out and have a margarita or two or a mojito or two, and so we did that instead. And now a lot of people are saying it just didn't have that 'magic in the air' -- so guess this makes ya' feel better that for once you didn't carpe diem -- but it's a shame for the guys who haven't been to a really special concert, that they didn't get one this time. Guess they can't all be good, but when people pay so much you'd wish they could be. The worst thing about Las Vegas from here is the weekly traffic jam on Fridays and Sundays, as half of greater LA heads over there.

me & my girl flew in from N.C. for the show & to site see in CA. I thought the concert was good. We meet some great people in the parking lot, including Peter Mayer walking by to go inside (the Highlight for us). My only complaint is, that was mention before, was quite a few people in our section sitting down during the show. Maybe it was just me being excited about being in CA & seeing Buffett!, but I was jumping & pushing the FOOL BUTTON the entire time.
