Bulls, dating back to when they played in the International Ampitheatre, I am no MJ bandwagon jumper
I have a tremendous fondness for the team formerly known as the Black(eye)hawks. Maybe with the demise of "Dollar Bill" some semblence of dignity will return to one of the original 6
Since I grew up entirely on pro teams, I have no real affinity to college teams other than my Illinois State University Redbirds
yeah well I ain't married to you so I gotta be a packer backer.

The Caps games were a lot of fun.
In the three years I lived in DC, I went to exactly one Wizards game, basically just so (A) I could say I saw Michael Jordan play (although there at the end of his career it wasn't quite the same) and (B) they were playing the Bucks, for whom Desmond Mason was playing at the time. My wife went to college with him, so she wanted to go watch him play.
I went to a couple of Hornets games when they were here in Oklahoma City the last couple years, but I just can't get into the NBA.

Mets, Knicks, and Giants.
Plus the Yankees -- when they're not playing the Mets -- I know, I know, it's weird and unusual but hubby's a lifelong Yank fan as is my oldest so I do it out of love for them.

My two favorite football teams lost by a combined score of 82-9. And we had to put our family cat to sleep.
I was looking forward to coming back to work today just so this craptastic weekend would be over.

Last night on the news when it came time for sports, the opening line was:
"The Cubs helped us forget about The Bears. Now The Bears are helping us forget about The Cubs."
That really sums it up quite well!!!! It seems that balance has been restored in this town!
LMAO

Disturbed by a trend I see here. How can you have more that one favorite team in a sport? I was brought up you dance with who brung you, I cant understand how people can say "I root for the Falcons and the Raiders". Pick a lane people

I could see liking 2 teams from different leagues/conferences; maybe you grew up with a team from the American League/Eastern Conference/NFC and now you live in a place where there is only a National League/Western Conference/AFC team. I fully believe you could adopt that team as your own.
Of course, who would ever want to root for the Raiders AND the Falcons is beyond me.

Well, you have to understand that most of us who grw up in or lived in Atlanta from the mid 1960s through the early 90s never really saw a winning team (1982 Braves are the one exception). So the sports fans here started picking a winning team to pull for since you knew the hometown team was going to be elimated from the playoff race virtually after the first game of the season.
Also, there wasn't NHL hockey in Atlanta for 15+ years, so there were a lot of people who formed attachments to other teams.

I live 30 minutes from Chicago. As a Bear fan I grew up watching the trio of Bob Avellini, Vince Evans and Mike Phipps qurterback our team into oblivion until the mid 80's. I am a cubs fan. They are out of it two days into spring training. Dollar Bill Wirtz destroyed hockey in Chicago. The Bulls were a joke until the man showed up. So why didnt I pick a different team? Because when they build back up, it is that much sweeter knowing you cheered for them when they were down.
I am not saying I am right or wrong, just my opinion. I back one team in each sport, but that doesnt mean I dont enjoy watching other teams, but you can only have one favorite IMHO.

I have two favorite College teams because I got degrees at two major universities in two different states (& different conferences).
One in my home state where I was born and raised and have a natural loyalty, the other where I "emotionally" grew up.
I have no problem rooting for both of them...unless it were get down to a Title matchup, which is a longshot.
I guess I'd have to choose then.
As for Pro Sports:
I'm also a NASCAR fan...but with NASCAR, while lots of folks have favorites, and I do have favorites; it's really more of the
few drivers I really dislike.

Those is fightin' words!
However, I'm a big fan of your Coach, Joe Gibbs.
He owns the team one one of my favorite NASCAR drivers drives for.
Besides, he's an all around good guy.
But, I think he should've stayed in NASCAR.
