I got topless for red sox tickets
i just got 2 red sox tickets for the alcs game number 5. i entered the drawing at the sox site and got an email last night. today at noon i had to go on line to get the tickets. i had my red sox ortiz shirt on and dave said "you're wearing your lucky ortiz shirt" well, i remembered that the last game we went to (just after labor day)a game i wore it and they lost. so i decided that i would take off my shirt to reverse the curse and perhaps that would get me tickets. viola... i got 2 tickets. that's where the problem comes in. i could only get two. last night when i discovered this, in my excitement i called my dad who is 81 and a HUGE sox fan. poor guy has lived his entire married life in new jersey being an avid sox fan. anyway, i told him the good news and asked him if he wanted a ticket. this was before i knew there was a 2 ticket limit. so now what do i do???
i think the right thing to do is let my dad go with dave even though i'm a huge fan also!!!! but i don't see my dad being able to have this chance again what with his age and this is the sox we're talking about.
i'm praying that the sox win the alds and have to go to game 5 for the alcs and win it!!
what do you think i should do??

Dad could make it to 164 in time for the Sox to win the Series again...MacPhin wrote:i just got 2 red sox tickets for the alcs game number 5. i entered the drawing at the sox site and got an email last night. today at noon i had to go on line to get the tickets. i had my red sox ortiz shirt on and dave said "you're wearing your lucky ortiz shirt" well, i remembered that the last game we went to (just after labor day)a game i wore it and they lost. so i decided that i would take off my shirt to reverse the curse and perhaps that would get me tickets. viola... i got 2 tickets. that's where the problem comes in. i could only get two. last night when i discovered this, in my excitement i called my dad who is 81 and a HUGE sox fan. poor guy has lived his entire married life in new jersey being an avid sox fan. anyway, i told him the good news and asked him if he wanted a ticket. this was before i knew there was a 2 ticket limit. so now what do i do???

I think that there is only one realistic solution.
Tape the two tickets to the roof of your home. Whoever gets up there first, grabs the tickets and gets back down gets to go. Oh sure, blood will be spilled. Perhaps a fall in the bushes. But for something as serious as this, I feel that the ticket must be earned. And there is obviously no better way. Film the battle and post it here. Thanks.

i actually did post the 3rd poll question as should dave and i go and forget my dad but for some reason it didn't get posted???Skibo wrote:You don't mention if you offered a ticket to Dave or not. If you offered a ticket to dave then dave and dad should go. If you did not offer a ticket to dave and he is just assuming he is going then you and dad.
well, it is assumed that dave would be "the other half" i am the one who is making the sacrifice here, not dave.

you and your Dad, I'm sure your Dave is a true gentleman...
he also registered but mis-spelled his email address for the contact. he didn't realize it until last night. he just about punched a whole in the wall.

Hmmmm....you could make it up to Dave by going topless (et al) for him...
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

As much as I love DP66's idea, I think it should be you and your pops.
