Type of Parrot

Post by ladyparrothead »

I have recently seen a picture of a parrot that looks like the feathers are either "curly" or "afro" ish (at least on head). Very cute. Would like to look further into type of parrot this is but have no idea what it is called. Need key word for Google  Thanks!

no, it wasn't a hawkhead :( I'll have to pay more attention the next time I see it. It is part of a local advertisement on a cable channel. Maybe I could call the company

Check out BirdChannel.com

I have seen budgerigars with a kind of "mop-top" look.
Stepson sent me photos of one with lots of curly feathers.
It is a mutation, selectively bred to produce a certain look.

My canary has a few flight feathers that are a bit curly.
