hehehe. Maybe I could patent the idea and send my sons, their friends, and their surfboard racks to all of my neighbors' decks.Longboardn' ASEL&S wrote:You wax your board for one reason and one reason only:
To gain traction for wet bare feet on a now glass but formerly wood board.
A deck should have good traction for wet bare feet as well.
Just call your homeowner's insurance agent and ask for a discount now that your deck is so much safer!

Don't want to go the sander route unless there's no choice at all. I share a deck with my neighbor and we're not due to retreat them for another year. I don't even know if I could buy the stuff that's on there. It's a gray sort of pebbled and almost rubbery deck coating that's pretty popular over here.
WD-40 or something like that, something that's oil based....it'll remove gum from plastic, then all you have to do is use hot soapy water to remove the WD-40

Surf shops sell wax remover in tiny bottles for stripping a board of it's wax. Just like regular surfers buy bulk polyester resin for ding repairs from the auto shop instead of overpriced ding repair kits from the surf shop, I'm sure they know of a bulk chemical solvent that they buy from a hardware store for their wax removal chores.
