I have to look through my cds to see if I have one of those shows recorded, does anyone happen to have one of the above concerts recorded? Would love to trade.

I'm not sure what's gimmicky about the sound of the song.
I like it the way it is. Recording a new song would be better imo.
When I said gimmicky I was referring to some of the cliche' 80s chord changes and synthesizers.
Just listened to it again.
Not sure if I hear much synths and in fact it sounds like it could have been recorded recently imo. I know what you mean though, a few songs on the Floridays album has that "80s" sound.
Love the steel drums and harp all the way through NPOS and the guitar solo is on point.
After giving it a good listen I just noticed a low playing electric guitar riff playing all through the song that somehow I never paid attention to before, silly me. It seems to come over the left speakers mainly.

No Plane on Sunday was the theeme of a trip to Grand Turk in 1986. Airline with 2 planes, trans Cabibbean or some such, had its planes repo'ed after we got there. It was the only carrier at the time between Grand Turk and Miami -- the alternative was Eastern from Provo which flew different days. My wife was supposed to start a new job the 1st day back. She got to call and say sorry, no planes. Great memory and always one of my JB faves
