I am so excited and have nobody to tell (if I called anyone and woke them to tell this they would be p***). I just scored a Tues tic to see The Boss at the LA Sports Arena. So I am going to see both shows. I am so happy for myself. I have seen Bruce several times, but never twice in one week!! anyone else going to the LA shows?

Good for ya' RB!!
I'm going to the Monday show and I'll admit it...
I'm more psyched for that show than I am about seeing Jimmy this Sat night in Vegas!!
Don't get me wrong, the Vegas show is something I've been looking forward to for months, but
there are few shows better than seeing The Boss LIVE!!

Re: Springsteen
I came of age during the Born In the USA days and it never clicked in my head. I actually preferred Tunnel Of Love to USA at the time. The more I listened to Cowboy Junkies and saw his influence on them, the more I listened to Bruce's early stuff. It took their cover of "State Trooper" to get me really digging into Bruce's music. Soon, it all made sense. When I finally saw Bruce during The Rising tour, I was in awe.rich_big wrote:I am so excited and have nobody to tell (if I called anyone and woke them to tell this they would be p***). I was trying so hard to get to you
Now I'm driving so far to forget you
Well, tonight I should be lying with you in a never-ending night
Well, tonight I should be lying in a never-ending kiss
But I'm alone on this dark road listening to Nebraska

My sentiments exactly - I don't miss a Buffett or Springsteen show when they pull into town (Toronto, Canada).IrishPirate wrote:You have something to look forward to! I saw Bruuuuce in Philly last weekend and, as usual, he was great. There are only two people I will go to see in concert every time they tour, Bruce & Buffett. Two of the best entertainer's out there! Been a fan of both since the mid 70's.
I was at the Springsteen show here in Toronto last night (for the record he performed for about 2hrs and 40 minutes stright - no intermission).
Excellent show!!
My three personal faves from the night were "Badlands", "Candy's Place" and "Incident on 57th Street".
Enjoy the show!!

Saw his show in MSG last evening (wednesday) and was blown away!!! A really outstanding production...I had no idea!!
In addition to the music, the sound, lighting, staging, and especially the videos were unbelievable--Mr Buffett should send his whole video operation to a Springstein show for lessons!!! Its the difference between amateur and professional!!

Bruce is one of the best (if not the best) live performer I have seen---he has an amazing ability to come out and in about 5 seconds have that audience totally in his control. His energy level is unbelievable!

I was at the show at the Garden last night and I was a little disappointed. It was a good show and I liked the songs from the new album better live than I did when I listened to a free preview online but ...
Someone needs to tell Bruce that when the tickets say showtime is 7:30 that means 7:30 in the same time zone. He didn't hit the stage until 8:30. And while I realize Bruce is 58 and the days of the 4 hour shows are most likely over, a 2:15 concert is not what I was expecting. He was done by 10:45, just late enough that I couldn't get out of the Garden and down to Penn Station in time to catch the 10:55 train so I had to wait an hour for the next one.
That being said, it was a typical high energy Bruce Springsteen show. Max Weinberg has to be one of the best drummers in rock music. From my seat right at the side of the stage 4 rows off the floor I had a good view of Max and at times the sticks were a blur in his hands. Clarence Clemons was on fire all night. Nils Lofgren was like a whirlig dervish in his little corner of the stage but he looks like a midget when they put him next to the Big Man. Little Steven was Little Steven, what more can I say? Bruce pulled an old one out of his bag of tricks, a song I had never heard him do live in the 6 or 7 other shows I've been to - Thundercrack.
I don't care if Patti Scialfa is married to Bruce, they should never let that woman anywhere near a live microphone. She has an awful voice.
According to backstreets.com this is the setlist:
Radio Nowhere
Night
Lonesome Day
Gypsy Biker
Magic
Reason To Believe
Candy's Room
She's The One
Livin' In The Future
The Promised Land
Tougher Than The Rest
Meeting Across The River
Jungleland
You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)
Devil's Arcade
The Rising
Last To Die
Long Walk Home
Badlands
* * *
Girls In Their Summer Clothes
Thundercrack
Born To Run
Dancing In The Dark
American Land

on the other hand, it was so high energy, for audience as well as the band, that it was hard to feel cheated.....
and it was such a stunning show, both the music and the production, that i was just delighted, and am still smiling when i think of it....

No set dates yet but should be in the summer with plenty of opportunities for us in the Northeast from what I read in the news today.Pleasin & Teasin wrote:yes, it was the same thing on Wednesday nite....i thought it was just something that nite, but no start till 8:30 and then the "3 hour show" promised was 2:15.....LIPH wrote:ISomeone needs to tell Bruce that when the tickets say showtime is 7:30 that means 7:30 in the same time zone. We also saw him in Philly and he talked about playing Thundercrack at the Main Point in Brynmar, wow that takes me back. Saw some great shows there. As far as your comments about Patty my wife said she sounded like Yoko singingLIPH wrote:Bruce pulled an old one out of his bag of tricks, a song I had never heard him do live in the 6 or 7 other shows I've been to - Thundercrack.
