Sorry Jimmy, I paid $126 to sit in a seat to see you play live but you have gotten too greedy with this. If you are trying to cut into the Corona market here's a hint for the marketing department: sell it for LESS THAN Corona. Here's another head's up: IT'S NOT AN IMPORT! I buy German beer for less.
Um, all your complaints should be directed at people other than Jimmy. Someone else is making the decisions on this--he's just the grease that makes the gears work.

TS,
I very much respect your response, however, Jimmy is fully aware of his "brands". Witness the numerous lawsuits his lawyers bring to bear against those that rhyme, rip off or otherwise come close to Margaritaville, Cheeseburger in Paradise, etc. I don't think he would say "go ahead and put 'brewed in Margaritaville' on the label and don't let me have any input whatsoever and I will blindly have it sponsor my concerts instead of Corona". I believe he has a little more say in it than that. So, while I agree that he does not have full control over the product, he is not that far removed either. When it comes right down to it, Jimmy
is the brand name.
And "all my complaints" add up to 1: the price. That's all.

I also have only one complaint about Landshark. It's a lousy beer. At any price.

And my point is that Jimmy's input DOES NOT extend to the selling price of the product. Brand managers, marketing and merchandising specialists do that.
It is a business after all, not a charity. No offense intended, but if you are that price-sensitive there are a lot of cheaper beers that probably taste the same or better. Just because it's Jimmy's beer doesn't mean any of us HAVE to buy it. If it's a bad beer or too expensive, buy something else.
Not buying Landshark doesn't reduce your dedication to the Parrothead Code (whatever that may be).

I buy it because I like it. When I like something, price does not matter. I like goin to see JB live so whether it 126.00 or 226.00 or whatever, I will pay it because I like it.

Quaker Steak and Lube has a big sign up for it and so does the local bev supplier. Douglasville, Georgia.

Only in the South....
They have them in Pennsylvania too.
Landshark Lager is not in Eastern PA yet, I've been calling distributors since May and most of them don't even know what it is. I've had it and I like it better than Corona, I got it at the Jersey Shore and my friends told me they have it at the Maryland & Delaware shore as well. I've been told that they started the distribution only in his restuarants and in the areas that Jimmy had concerts at and that it would be put out to other areas in the future. If any one knows when it's come to PA, pls. let me know. Also I want to get one of those Landshark Lager surfboards they are selling on Ebay, so if anyone knows how to get one those pls. let me know!
I saw it last week at Total Wine in Delaware, didn't check out the price, but it's there. Right off of Naman's road.

I am only price sensitive to attempting to charge what is, in my opinion, exhorbitant prices for domestic beer. I feel the same about being charged extra for Killians when it is 'imported' all the way from Colorado. Personally, I buy a German beer (which is actually brewed in Germany) and pay less than either of those for a (once again, my opinion) much better quality beer.
btw, if you feel the need to start a sentence with "no offense intended" then you might reconsider wording the sentence where the disclaimer isn't needed. It's much like starting a sentence with "to be honest", it implies that everything else you have said up to that point wasn't.

As one who works in the beer industry and actually helps to set pricing for beer (both domestic and foreign), I will state that JB's marketing folks teamed with the folks at AB do set a base price. This price is what the wholesalers around the country are charged for their particular market. Each wholesaler in turn sets their own pricing to their local retailers. The retailers then set their own price. This is known as the three tier system - it is one of the systems put into place after Prohibition to protect consumers and private business owners from brewers or wholesalers dictating to retailers what pricing would be.
So when you see $8.59 a 6pk, this is a price point determined by the retailer - not JB, the brewery, or even the wholesaler. And frankly, a $0.59 is a throw away price point - we target for $.49 (ugh) and $0.99 (better).
I like JB, but I hope that Landshark is caught in a net and beat with a baseball bat like a shark on the deck of a sportfishing boat.

Got a case smuggled in from across the border of Maryland.
Just purchased a Landshark t-shirt, bottle opener and hat from Margaritaville this morning. My early Chirstmas present!
Has anyone else out there carefully removed the label stickers off of the bottles? I got the labels stuck everywhere now. One on my tiki bar roof, garage wall, tool box and even on my John Deere tractor!!

This is great.....I have to carry a case at a time when leaving Vegas. I will be much happier when I can just buy it close to Oregon. I will still go to Vegas. My luggage issue will become much less of an issue.

Feel obligated to try one out of curiosity. I do like CIP's Island Ale. Not great but not bad. A good beer for a hot day when they're offering draft specials.
Is it available as draft? I haven't seen it in my area on tap.
