That's My Story And I'm Stickin' To It

Post by The Wino »

The names and places of this story will remain nameless since I don't want to bite the hand that feeds me. Out of the dozen Jimmy shows I have been to over the last 10 years (Vegas, Crickett, Irvine, Shoreline), last nights show far and away blew away them all. The set list, the acoustics, the hula girls and their lamp shades, Jimmy talking about playing with Jerry, it truly was a magical night. Here is where the story really gets good...After that amazing show I was invited to join Jimmy and the band for a night cap. That's right I had a drink with Jimmy, Mac, Mike and the gang. UNBELIEVABLE!!! The most down to earth, genuine people you will ever meet. I felt a tad out of place since their body guards were a good foot and a half taller than me but none the less it was a night I won't soon forget.

Should the tale be true, you were one lucky Wino my friend.

I would have loved to have chatted with the folks, especially Big Mac. Shows like that are to be cherished.

Congrats -

I think he already answered that... (or rather, said up front he wasn't going to.... :wink: )

Y'know...that's about the only way I could see making an excellent evening even more so. I do sorta know a couple of the Reefers, but not *that* bloody well.

You, sir, are a very lucky man.

I know that what I said earlier might be interpreted as a fable but I wanted to protect those who allowed me to be in their innercircle. I was able to meet Jimmy (albeit for 5 minutes) in a setting only I could dream of. Jimmy and the CRB relaxing and enyoing dinner and a drink. Trust me I wanted to ask a lot questions but I realized this was not the setting. I was just happy to be the 5th wheel.

[smilie=coolup.gif] Good for you.

As much as I love Jimmy and the Reefers, I don't think I could ever meet them. I'd have a starstruck moment and make an ass of myself.

I've met lots of other famous folks and been cool about it, but Jimmy's one person I'd blow it with. I know myself well enough to know that much. :D

Yup...when in a situation like that, the best thing to do is treat the nice celebs just like normal people.
