I'm guessing it wouldn't look good if I showed up with a 20 year old CD for him to sign. If I go I should probably get a newer one.

I like James Taylor, have for a long time but the last time I saw him in Atlanta may be my last time ever, the show was HORRIBLE.

I've seen him on the Today Show 2 or 3 times doing a couple of songs but I've never been to a JT concert. I was supposed to see him last December but I had a really bad cold and I didn't think the rest of the audience would appreciate hearing me coughing all night so I didn't go.

Heck, Larry, I think he'd be flattered.

On the other hand, he might think I don't like any of his newer music.

Yeah, I'm sure that when you stick a cd and and a sharpie in his face, he's going to take TIME to analyze WHICH cd you're asking him to sign

He plays Tanglewood in Lenox, Mass every summer....considering he lives in Stockbridge(next town over)...it's a small out door venue...very cool place.....i've yet to see him there...but want to!!

Why don't you just show up with a 20 year old and let him sign
her??

Its a shame you missed it.....it was just a great concert....my first JT one....I had no idea he was so funny!! Kinda like the dry wit of Mac McAnally without the southern accent...

The Beacon Theater is a great place to see a concert too. I was disappointed but there's still time to see him one of these days.

I have seen JT at the big amphitheater type shows a couple of times and he can make a large place seem personable. He is one of the funniest performers I know.
Wonder if the folks who follow him can almost predict what he will say for each song on the tour?
I have to say nothing compares to seeing JT up close when he performed with the Houston symphony one year! WOW!!
I guess any show is more special when you can get close enough to the performer.

Well, Larry, you are in luck!! I just watched the DVD of Mr. Taylor's new release "One Man Band", and, lo and behold, it is that concert....not shot at the Beacon, to be sure, but in a very similar venue, and basically the same concert. Differences, if any, are insignificant.....I cant swear that the set list is the same in every respect, and maybe the cd left out one or more numbers, but what was there was in the NYC concert, only much closer up and from more angles. Just delightful!!
If you get hold of it, I'd be interested to see your comments on it.

I did watch my 1998 video of James Taylor AT The Beacon yesterday. That is one of his best. But, hey, they are all good.

Country Road. James slid through a few crazy notes and ended up singing in a different key than I'm used to hearing him sing that song in.
So sweet!!
