:o Wow that's awful. My neice who is 13 had a page and when it was discovered, we found out that she had her full name and address on this site. Her Mom and I freaked out and pulled the page. There are too many sick people out there.

Too bad it was too late for Megan. :(

Parents need to be parents.

Otherwise something horrible like this could happen.

I can't think of anything sadder.

I agree that we need to teach our kids to be careful, but I also think these parents who started the fake myspace need to be reprimanded.

What are they teaching their daughter? That you should make fun of people.

That just p*** me off!!!

So true, my friend.

A parent is supposed to be more experienced, more cautious, and wiser than the children they are raising.

I saw a whole you tube video dedicated to kids who commites suicide because of bullying. Cyber-Bullying is on the rise. So mean......
I hope parents see this and realize how careful they have to be.

Poor Megan.... truly heartbreaking!

After what they did, the other parents should drop the misdemeanor property damage charge.
That's really pathetic.

Let me first say that this situation is horrific and the parents who made up the fake myspace need to be reprimanded...they need to go away for a long long time to say the least.

However, today's generation of children are having an injustice done to them because we are trying to be so politically correct. This generation ( the melinnum generation as they are called) have not been taught to think for themselves. Since they were very very young, they were taught compromise. The were taught not to argue. They were taught that they were not truly bad at anything. Take for example pee wee baseball, everyone plays not matter how good or bad they are. They don't keep score. Also the playground are so "safe" - surrounded by rubber, and wood chips that keep you from skinning your knees. Kids today cannot handle adversity because their parent have ususally taken care of it for them. Now let's talk about parents - they are called "heliocopter" parents.. Because they hover...taking care of things for their children, not allowing them to skin their knees, take care of their own arguments, have hurt feelings.

Now what we are facing as a nation are a group of children that don't know how to handle their disagreements appropriately. They are automatically taking it to the next hurtful and sometimes physical level(columbine, Virginia tech). And parents are trying to solve ALL of their childrens problems ( this situation....and what about the cheerleader's mom who tried to hurt another cheerleader to insure her daughter made the squad) instead of allowing them to work through problems on their own. They are now taking it so far as to go on job interviews and negotiate salaries for their children leaving college.

These are just some of my observations from a collegiate level...but I can see it in the high schools, middle schools and even in my friends with small children. Siiighhh.....just let them skin their knees every once in awhile.......they'll grow up more confident and self assured....

That's all said but do you think they would? I don't think so. Not sure if the parents of the dead girl can bring the other parents up as accessories to murder (even though Megan took her on life).
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

and while horrific, that urge to lash out and make the source of the torment stop is understandable. After Columbine, I am sure "jocks" were a bit more cautious about picking on the outsider kids. It's sad that that happened, but having witnessed a few incidents of a group of popular kids making life hell for someone who was running solo "because it was ok, they aren't cool", I gotta root for the underdog as long as the outcome isn't fatal. (and some of the best revenge is going back to a HS reunion and finding out the kids who were popular and cool in HS because of their athletic ability are left reliving their old memories because their best days were 10, 15, or 20 years in the past is rather cool too... :D)

This is so true. I see it with my neighbors. I caught their 10 year old in my backyard getting a ball and I told him that he should not climb the 6 foot fence because he could get hurt (and they seem the litigious type). I told him he should come to the front door and ask me to get the ball. I let him out the gate and he went home sniffling because of the tongue-lashing. 20 minutes later a cop is at my door, the neighbors filed a complaint against me. The complaint: I yelled at their son. The cop asked to see my backyard and commented, and I quote, "I'd have yelled at him too!"
