Ryman Nashville

Post by jkpike »

I heard that Jimmy's people have been in talks with the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville TN. I can only guess which country stars will Conky Tonk with him on the former stage of the Grand Ole Opry!

IMHO Jimmy should not play there unless he does all country. If he has others join him on his non-country songs---it would just be a sad day in Nashville.

Oh!!! Jimmy at the Ryman would be great, no matter what he plays or who shows up.

Maybe Todd Snider will play with Jimmy since he lives in Nashville. :)

Or maybe Lyle Lovett since he's so COUNTRY!! [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Or Guy Clark who also lives in Nashville...

Love it! I've never seen that, Micki. Thanks!
My sister said she works with someone who used to be part of Evangeline. I'll remind her to find out what she can.

I have two of their CDs and I see one Evangeline Listed At Ebay

No such luck. It sure would be nice. I'm bettin' it'll never happen. It's a shame, too, since Nashville means so much to Jimmy. I mean, he knows and has played with so many Nashville country stars. What a party they could throw for him. After the concert at the Ryman, of course. 8)

Aww, citcat, why "no such luck!" Sure it could happen.

http://www.ryman.com/events_new.html

Looking at the events coming up, there is such a variety of acts and Jimmy would fit right in.

It would be nice to see him on that event page!!

Neil Young did a couple of acoustic shows there last year and released a DVD I really like. I think a scaled-back JB show featuring some rare concert gems would be awesome there.

I haven't been to Nashville in 5 1/2 years. This might be a reason to go back.

according to wiki, the Ryman hold 2632, so that would be a small place.

it also says it has the second best acoustics in the world. first being the mormon tab choirs in salt lake city. I remember being at that big church as a kid. wish I would have known about the acostics. I would today have the ultimate 'fart in church' joke today.

one of the places I want to see is without a doubt the Ryman, and I want to see the Grand Ol Opry as well as graceland......

There's also a rumor of Chesney playing there this summer. So take it with a grain of salt. Someone spreading rumors to just have fun or perhaps something entirely else.
