My knowledge is not very up-to-date on this but the last I heard Dave Kennedy was in the S.F. area. Keith Backman was playing drums in a c/w band called "Montana Al and the Mutton Punchers", and Ric Hall was playing singles in steakhouses around the area.
This was actually a very lively good band. I saw them on a number of occasions.

The studio side of Exploding White Mice contains such memorable tunes as the pogo-speed "Intuition" and the aptly titled "Do the Crunch"; the live side displays more of the Mice's raw power than any of the group's studio work.
There's a band in Arizona called Sweaty Johnson. I just did a google search to see if they have a website but it looks like they only have a MySpace page. I can't post the link because the firm blocks MySpace but I did find this - Before he became the lead singer and guitarist for Sweaty Johnson, Doug Ballance released "8-TRACK", his solo debut on his own indie label, Purple Arms.
Some live Sweaty Johnson favorites appeared on this album, such as "Meet Yer Beat/Long Way To Memphis". The joltingly funky and funny "Meet Yer Beat" seamlessly segues into the explosive "Long Way To Memphis", possibly the best song Aerosmith never wrote.
I don't have any proof...It was a local band and many years ago...and I'm sure they are not the only ones....
But my ex husband played in a band, back in Charleston...and they called themselves "Free Beer" because it caught people's attention on the Marquee......
One of my favorites of all time played (and I think still plays) the southern college circuit - The Velcro Pygmies. Don't have a link to their website right off, but I'm sure you can find them if you look.
About 20 years ago, a friend in law school had a little brother who had a band with some buddies from high school ... they called themselves "Woody and the Peckers".
Funny thing was, they weren't allowed to play at school dances because of the name.
'Cause I want to be there, I want to go back down and lie beside the sea there ...
Back in the day before they hit it big, Hootie and the Blowfish used to play in the little bars around here....my brother and I always laughed at the name....
Way back when I was in high school, there was a local band
called "Snatch". They got a kick out of putting adds all over the
hallways of the school. They had to change their name to "Wolfbane".
There was another local band about the same time called "Lizard".

And from the remake of The Bad News Bears a band called The Blood Farts
Dave Barry is always coming up with good names for bands in his articles...Hes a nut
