NO. 9 HORSE IN THE 10TH RACE: Pulaski County, a horse housed by Last Mango Stables, and owned by a number of New Orleans Saints' personnel and players, will make its debut tonight at the Fairgrounds in New Orleans in the 10th race.

PC, as the horse is more affectionately known, is co-owned by several people, including Sean Payton, Saints quarterback Drew Brees and <b>Mr. Margaritaville Jimmy Buffett</b>.

Trained by Tom Amoss and ridden by Eddie Martin, Pulaski County is projected at 6-to-1 odds. PC will race against 11 other maidens in the six-furlong race.

"I always go for the nine horse," Brees said. "It was something that was dreamed up in the offseason and was interesting. Now that it's football season, my focus is completely on football. I just read e-mail occassionally and I've seen pictures. I haven't had time to go down to the stables."

Tropical shirts, yes. I think the $400 Last Mango jockey silks might be out of the budget, unless you hit a long shot.

They need to get him a top jockey and trainer!...with the money they have it shouldn't be a problem......i can see it now....Buffett has a horse running in Aug at Saratoga and at night a concert up there!!!..now there is a daily double!!!

Does this mean Jimmy's going to ride the horse on stage to start the show like he did with the bicycle most of this year?

...with the Coral Reefers playing the opening strins of the "William Tell Overture" instead of "On the Road Again"?
