I can pretty much type without looking, but, as a lot of people here, I have to look for symbols and stuff, but I've retained it pretty well.
The classic IBM Selectric! I'll bet 90% of us 40-50 somethings learned on that machine.

took keyboarding back in jr high and being that I occasionally need to code programs I can mostly type without looking at the keys but normally its a combination of both looking and not looking as my fingers run a little fast at times.

I learned on a machine very similar to that. My typing class at school was the last year they used actual typewriters and not computers/keyboards. I took it as a freshman so that would have been 1990.

None of the above. I don't type properly but I know where the keys are and can type rather quickly while rarely looking at the keyboard. I taught myself to type in chat rooms as a young teen where speed was everything. I did take a course in high school and did great.. as long as the teacher wasn't watching exactly how I was typing :)

We used to get 6 report cards a year and in 9th grade everybody was required to take typing for 2 marking periods. I wish I had paid attention.

There is no option for me. I hunt and peck, but I don't always have to look at the keyboard (and have been tested at 70 wpm with my technique.)

Yup. That's what I learned on. Took a year of typing in HS - maybe the most valuable thing I learned. Hit 73 WPM one time. Zoom! :D

Had a typing class about 27 years ago. My typing has improved a lot the last 6 years working for the postal service. I'm required to do a minimum of 7150 keystrokes per hour, averaging 9000 to 10,000. Don't know what that would translate to in words per minute.
