My thoughts exactly.
Maybe the same people that chose "Sweet Home Alabama" as the background music for Kentucky Fried Chicken commercials?

Every time the residents of Jacksonville vote for a favorite song, Sweet Home Alabama wins.
It's a Skynyrd thing. You wouldn't understand.

They are three of the most awful songs I have heard.

I could see "Sweet Home Alabama" as our state song if the panhandle was it's own state called Florabama.

Well, Florida did extend all the way to the Mississippi River at one time...

And the finalists are:

-Florida, My Home – Music by Carl Ashley (Boynton Beach), Lyrics by Betsy Dixon (Boynton Beach)

-My Florida Home – Music and Lyrics by Christopher Marshall (Orlando)

-Florida (Where the Sawgrass Meets the Sky) – Music and Lyrics by Jan Hinton (Pompano Beach)

Did you listen to them? I'm embarrassed one of these will represent Florida. They should have just kept "Swanee." The line that uses the word "darkie" doesn't make since anyway.

But they have only given us the three choices and Floridays isn't one of them. If it were i definitly would've voted that as well.
