Going back and looking at some of the names on the list again, I don't think I've been this surprised since Rosie O'Donnell came out of the closet.

I just read though the report...some of the names that stick out, Eric Gagne, Fernando Vina (sticks out because he now works for ESPN) so it will be interesting to see what he has to say, Mo Vaughn, Paul LoDuca, Andy Pettit, Roger Clemens, Chuck Knobloch  , Bond, Giambi, Shefield, Brian Roberts, Jack Cust, Todd Hundely, David Justice, Denny Neagle, Ron Villone, Brenden Donnelly..

One name I didn't see was Sammy Sosa.

Check out the D appendix with the copied checks and hand written notes. I see why LoDuca is no longer with the Mets . . .

Curious . . . what do you all think?

You pretty much know how I feel . . .
I think they were both Hall of Fame players before the drug controversy so I'd still vote for them. I think McGwire was a one dimensional player and in my opinion the HRs aren't enough reason to vote for him. If he ever gets in then the Veteran's Committee has to put Roger Maris in. Rafael Palmeiro was a numbers compiler, never led the league in any major offensive category, never won the MVP and only made the All-Star team 4 times in 22 years. I think he's out. I think Bagwell was borderline, this will probably move him to the no side of the fence. Sosa? Good chance I'd pass on him too. Ivan Rodriguez was so head and shoulders above the rest of the catchers I might vote for him anyway. I thought Pujols would be a lock for the Hall but if he was juiced for the last few years maybe let's wait and see what he can do when he's clean. Varitek just lost my vote.
Do all 80 or so players on this report (if found accurate) get fines? Suspensions? Lose endorsements?

Do you think people out who were planning on NOT voting for Bonds in the HOF will NOT vote in Clemens based soley on illegal steroid use?
No i don't think there will be any punishment...just the character of some of these guys who said all along they didn't do it will be damaged...some we had a idea!.......steroids or HGH didn't help some of the careers of named people!!...Paxton Crawford to name 1!!!
I was talking about players who would be consider for the HOF.

Roughly looking, at least 1/3 of the players from the Yankees late 90's championship team are on the list.

You know..if these guys came clean and admiited it ...i don't think it would be as big a story as it is now....MLB back a few years ago didn't have a drug testing policy....Andro and HGH you could buy at GNC!!!

I was shocked that Sosa and Frank Thomas wasn't on the list...and pleasantly shocked Nomar wasn't on it.

Read some of this things in the report about Gagne, last November when teh Red Sox were thinking about signing Gagne they had suspicions about Gagne and steroid use and were told that Gagne was not they type of person who took care of himself and was a likely steroid user....
