How timely . . .
I was talking to the wife about Buffett in Vegas in '08. She interjected about a possible visit to KW. Far be it for me to say no. I began snooping around and different things - possible flights, hotels etc and it is f'n pricey.
The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

It's been said that KW is the most expensive tourist destination in the U.S. (not sure if that included Hawaii or not.)

My boss has a condo in Key Largo that she says I can visit anytime except January and February. I might have to look into that!

It's too bad that those with money are taking away from those that just earn a living. The sad part of it all is that it's happening all over our country and not just KW. We as the wage earners in the US really need to take a look at who are buying the companies we work for. I do not mean to say this in any derogatory way but China will own the US in a very short time and what will be left with??? :o :o :o :o Think about it!

Enjoy Schooner while you can, because I have a feeling folks dumping that kind of cash for condos are not going to put up with a shanty shack bar next door.

And yes, it is sad. And yes, we contribute to the problem. It's the same as it is in MT, "natives being treated like intruders in their own home" by the tourists who can dump cash from elsewhere into the local economy.

and god bless the wh0ring ba$tard developers who would ruin what they have in the long run for a short-term buck.

I'm all for progress but this is a little too much. Maybe a "summer squall will blow them all way up to fantasy land" and give it all back to the locals.

As Jimmy said in Prince of Tides:

" Same old story, more dollars than sense "
Ain't that the truth!
" I don't want to burn in hell; I just want to be lightly browned."
