Your Kids Doing the Soulja Boy Dance

Post by ~ Parrot Bay ~ »

All the kids are doing the Superman Dance, maybe even your's. But do you know the meaning behind the lyrics to this and many of the other rap songs that your kids/grandkids are listening to!

Ellen has people doing the dance on her show. Kids are doing the dance at school, on websites, etc. They played the song at my kids Middle School fall dance this year and almost every kid (9-13) knew how to do it. Many of the people in the "Crank That" video are kids aged 8 to 18.

Anywho, what I'm getting at is the lyrics to the song and others like. This guy explains it well (be advised it is EXPLICIT):

You may not know what these songs mean but your kids do.

For those of you who don't know the song or haven't seen it................

While this video posted above is very informative, it could have been about 30 seconds long - not 9 and a half! Quit rambling and get to the point!

I listened to 2 Live Crew in High School but they were never marketed to young kids like this.

Look how many little kids and teens are in the video for this song. Some as young as 6-8.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

the same idiots who came up with other terms like the "Dirty Sanchez" and the "Rusty Trombone" have to be behind the "Spiderman" and "Superman" concepts..

wonderful. just wonderful.

Fortunately, I got 3 confused "Huh?"s when I asked my boys if they knew this song and/or dance.

If I'd heard it in my house, I wouldn't have known what it meant, but I WOULD have heard the word "ho" and that doesn't fly around here. Period.
