She was down at MOTM hawking this, but it was not out yet and the website wasn't taking pre-orders. Good to know that that has changed and they are selling and shipping.

Simple Syrup:
Combine 1 part water and 1 part sugar in a saucepan. Heat and stir until it comes to a boil. Boil for two minutes. Take off the heat and store in a plastic or glass container at room temperature

DAMB - that was easier than I thought......

:D

Simple Syrup (also known as Bar Syrup, Rock Candy Syrup) is little more then a mixture of sugar and water.
You first bring the water to a boil, then dissolve into this the sugar. Once the sugar is fully dissolved, you remove the pan from the heat and allow it to cool. The resultant liquid is easily stored in a plastic squeeze bottle to make it easy to add to cocktails as necessary.

The ratio of sugar to water can be left to personal preference, traditionally it is one part water to two parts sugar.

Actually hummingbird food is one part sugar to four parts water.

Heat one cup of water and dissolve a fourth a cup of sugar. :)

Simple sugar is also used to make Mojitos. A mainstay in our house in the summer. If I can't be someplace tropical, at least my mind can.

That's what we use SS for at my house, too!

SS can be used for gobs of cool tiki drinks. I tried to make it a couple of times but I burned it... not any good when it's like that. so I stick to the fresh fruit recipes.

Hmmmmm Janice I'm with you on the cooking part but sounds like a neat book. I can try a few and if they don't work for me after I read the neat stories I can pass it on to my daughter!!!! [smilie=battingeyes.gif] [smilie=battingeyes.gif]
