yes, me too, once was enough If it was 1998, then you and I were there at the same time
I've always said I wanted to do that JUST ONCE!!!! Never did, maybe someday
Mon, it is an experience that should not be missed, esp if you go with several friends. When we were there, lots of amateur drunks and huge crowds, so you were packed in like sardines. I am glad that I did it, as it was on my list of things to do, just wouldn't do it again. It's quite exciting to see the ball drop live in Times Square, really.
It really is!! Very exciting and crazy all at the same time! We had a hotel right in Times Square the one time i went. We paid alot for it but it was sooooooooooo worth it!

It was '98 into '99. I wouldn't do it now, too much security since September 11.

well, we rang in the new year together, sort of, hey wait were you the guy who
Two words for ya": Amateur Night. The only way I go out to a bar for NYE is when I'm getting paid to be there, like this year, and pretty much as soon as the ball drops, I'm going to lock the doors so no dumba**es on the way home from whatever duma** party they were at can stop in "for just one more" and make my bar liable for whatever dumba**ity they cause with their vehicle.
Take me for what I am, a star newly emerging.
I accept the new found man, and I set the twilight reeling.
It's official, home bodies we will be, watching the Grand Kids. Woo Hoo!!
Not too bummed though, went out for dinner & drinks with 4 friends Friday night & went and saw Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond fame) do standup comedy with some other friends Saturday Night. May have some family over tonight for a low-key N.Y.E.
Corona by day, Corona by night, any old time is just alright!
ContinentalDrifterIII, Liar's Saloon MTK, myself, and Liar's wife are coming to our place for delectable vittles and free flowing wine. Pizza, sushi, pigs in a blanket. You cannot ring in the new year without a pig in a blanket.

You're talking food, right?
. .
. .I wonder how many peeps will wake up in the morning next to the " real deal " . . .? ?
Yes, I was referring to those tiny weenies wrapped in puff pastry. hee hee hee
However, if an actual pig shows up wrapped in a comforter, then that would be the ultimate new year's gift.

We have a recovering sick kiddo so we'll be staying home tonight and watching Dick drop his ball. Plus, the Jonas Brothers are going to be on the Dick show so we'll party like sparkling-cider rock stars with our 10 year old.
Tomorrow morning, my MIL comes over to celebrate Xmas with us.
I don't go out for New Years Eve anymore now that I'm doing our New Years Day Chili Bowl, featuring beer, chili dogs and football all day. Started at a friends place, now that many of them have families I have the party, this will be year number 23 No invitations are sent out, none are needed. You need a chili dog, you just show up
Due to both of us having some sort of week long flu that wont go away...
INSTEAD of filet mignon and champagne at the martini bar down the street, we'll be seeing Charlie Wilson's War at 7 pm and I'll be asleep by 11 pm.
We both can barely taste anything so the steaks and French bubbly would have been wasted. Pity.
UGH.
I don't want to live on that kind of island
No, I don't want to swim in a roped off sea.
Too much for me, too much for me
I've got to be where the wind and the water are free.
So far it's been shrimp, clams and a fish fest....probably attempt to put the 6yr old. to bed no later than 10pm or he'll be hell in the a.m. Going to do a make your own sundae party with him early. 13yr old is at a friends house for a teen party sleepover ( god bless that mom). I myself will attack the caffeine and try like crazy to stay awake. Realized this Nov. when I hit 40 that I can't stay awake much past 9:30pm anymore. If I start to drink I might as well go to bed...hubby will be passed out by 9pm, has to work at 7am....He's even the boss and made himself work, need to talk to his supervisor .
NO matter what you all decide. HAVE A HAPPY, HEALTHY AND SAFE NEW YEAR..... I don't want to hear we lost anyone to DUI tonite.
