I don't know. I never had to take advantage of the wheelchair lift or personal attendent/nurse onsite when I stayed there. :D

Just read this email and thought i would pass it on:

Hello Everyone.....

I have received several email messages regarding MOTM 2008, "Bar Stools &
Beach Chairs" that have inaccurate information, and I want to clear up some
things before they become "fact." In other words, you need to know what is going
on from the source, not from what you see on a "blog" or web site message
board or hear from someone that would not know.....

1. The entertainment schedule is not finalized. We have been in contact with
and received replies from several of the performers, but not all of them.
The entire schedule will not be set until possibly May or June, depending on
when we can get answers from some of the performers. No one other than me knows
the status of the performers.

2. We cannot "guarantee" that Mr. Buffett will be at the convention this
year. Some people have written that they feel he is "obligated" to be at the
convention this year because of the scheduling conflict last year.
Mr. Buffett is always welcome to come and perform for us, anytime, any
place, but it is entirely up to him. He is well aware that he has a standing
invitation to come on down and party with us!

3. As I stated after the convention last year, we will work out a compromise
with the host hotel regarding the beach and pool chairs. We will also make
every effort to allow the use of personal chairs on the beach side of the
concrete walkway. The only thing I will promise you is that I will do whatever I
can to see if we can get permission from the hotel to allow the personal
chairs.

4. The closing date for registration is August 31, 2008. There was some
confusion earlier this year because of a glitch in the web site, the incorrect
date was displayed for a few days.

5. The logo contest entries must be submitted no later than March 31, 2008.
The logo has not been chosen, and if someone has a copy of what the logo is
that was supposed to have been chosen, please send it to me. All of the logo
submissions I have received are on my home computer, password protected.

I think that about covers the major issues. If you have any questions,
please see the web site, _http://www.phip.com/MOTM.asp_
(http://www.phip.com/MOTM.asp) ..... We have made changes to the web site to include more information
and answers to most of the questions we have received over the past few years.

Thanks.....

they do have a tough job, made tougher by folks who do expect Jimmy to show up every year; as well as by the hotel staff at the Casa who's attitude generally comes off as "you're parrothead scum. leave your money on the desk and get out"; as well as this year by Jimmy claiming his management company scheduled him into Tampa for two shows during MOTM at the last minute and he had to just go along with it.

I truly wish there was another option for a host hotel in KW. I felt the Casa treated us like crap last year, and the service in the outside cafe was *abysmal*....

I was going to be with friends and listen to all the great trop rock artists that play there! i did not go this year but i don't like what i am hearing about the Casa from people who did. I am glad i don't plan on staying there this year!

"Under new management" is not been a good thing, in this case. The Casa went from a pretty cool (if pricey) KW-style hotel to a glass and marble Euro-snobby place.... :-? :-?

I go for Key West and my fellow Parrotheads and Trop Rock artists. I visit the Casa if there's something going on there that I want to see, but I don't spend great amounts of time there.

And you can hear the big stage concerts just fine from Louie's Afterdeck. :pirate:

Ditto. I'll pay the registration fee because it's for charity. But last year I don't this I spent but about 2 hours at the Casa....

Just made reservations at Southern Most Hotel. We have stayed there a couple of times before and love it. It is a short stumble (about 1/2 mile) to the Casa.

We went to MOTM in 2006 and had a blast - can't wait to go back again! Hope to meet up with BN'rs!
