Anyone know where Peter is playing tonight?
Found it, but anyone know if there is a web cam?
I have a little bug that said we may want to check it out.

Well, he didn't show, but Streetfest rocked just the same. Almost the whole band jammed onto the tiny little stage. Rumor is he was kind of expected but went to visit Capt Tony (not in the hospital here) so he didn't make it. They played OPH and the place was crazy. We found out later that power was out from Stock island. Our little portion of Duval was the ONLY place with power for most of the day. I think we sucked it all up!!
Many of us were on the KD Moore/Fingers cruise when we heard about Capt. Tony. So we all raised our glasses to the then dark sky and sang a very rousing version of LMIP. It was truly "a moment". KD and Fingers were awesome.
I hate to leave tomorrow!

So we're in the KW airport, and hear "Passenger Shakoor to the podium please" and a few minutes later "last call for passenger Mayer". CabanaBoy asked if I'd be bumped for either of them- did he even need to ask?
Then we're boarding our flight to Miami, and there's Doyle Grisham, and he's sitting with his wife in the row behind me!
Great way to end our first adventure to MoTM (aka WAFF).
FlipFlop Girl, thanks for the heads up on El Siboney's- great cuban food, and we got to meet the man who designed the Conch Republic flag!

Amy Lee made a new friend.
Stu is her preferred chiropractor.
Nadirah smells and feels real nice.
Zinga should be upgraded to the Not As Bad Brother, he was rather a joy
at our breakfast outing Thursday morning around 5:30.

I also posted this in social forum:
I want to thank all my new friends that showed me such care and compassion during MOTM after my accident on the way there. Docnjeanie, (Jeanie & Doc) Carolina Dreamin' (Linda & Bob), Scarlet B, Old Manatee and his wife, FlipFlop (Christine), and anyone else who came up to me after hearing about it and said a kind word. I know I am missing people's names and I am sorry but please know how much I appreciate all of you.
Now for the accident....we landed in Ft. Lauderdale and drove out to AJ's and had a bite to eat. I had crab cakes and hubby had conch fritters. I also had two Margaritas. We ran into a couple of BNers while we were there (Old Manatee and his wife, DocnJeanie, and Scarlet B). About 45 min later down the road I started not feeling well. Horrible stomach pains, sweating, and rumbling in my stomach. Fried food sometimes doesn't agree with me. I told my hubby to find a bathroom fast! We pulled into the next gas station we found and I was really feeling terrible at this point. I got out of the car to race to the bathroom, heard my husband yell my name, and that is the last thing I remember.....
When I came to I saw my hubby and this young guy with big blue eyes asking me my name, who was the president, what day it was, etc. Apparently I fainted. I fell flat on my face! Ambulance came and they evaluated me and told me I need to go to the hospital to get my face stiched up and to get a full evaluation but that my hubby could take me. Meanwhile, I still have to get to the bathroom! So they let me go and I felt much better after that....until I saw my face in the mirror of the bathroom - not pretty! My nose was cut and swollen (not broken), and I had two large gashes on my chin.
Hubby took me to the ER and they fully evaluated me. They took an EKG, chest x-ray, blood work, and everything check out so they believe I fainted because I was in so much pain I probably was hyperventilating, etc. No broken ribs - although you could fool me because I am still in a world of pain! They used glue to close the two gashes in my chin - hopefully the scars won't be too horrible and the swelling on my chin has gotten better. I also have a nasty cut in my mouth but that is starting to heal. I am just thankful that I didn't hit my head or things could of been much worse!
The next day we discussed turning around and going home but I didn't want to ruin this vacation. We had look forward to it for soooooo long! I know I didn't look my best, that's for sure, but I got over it and I am soooo glad I did becasue I got to meet such wonderful, caring and compassionate BNers! We had a great time! I think the best part was the sunset cruise - I will never forget it! Again, thank you to each and everyone of you that came up to me - it really meant the world to me!
Oh - and get this - on Sunday as we are heading back to the airport our rental car dies on the Florida Turnpike! Unfreakinbelievable! Thank goodness we had left plenty of time. We waited about an hour and a tow truck showed up with another car for us and took the one that died. It definitely was a trip we won't soon forget!

You still partied great for being injured!
Our flight got in at 10:30 last night. Don't want to be at work today!!!!! It's gray and cold here......

Maybe I could be a conductor on the conch train?
The keet called yesterday morning while we were on the conch train. She had a "fender bender" on the way to school. She's fine. Basically she gently rolled into the guy ahead of her when she took her foot off her brake. But he went nuts! He got out the car screaming at her and demanded her insurance. When she showed it to him, he screamed it was her name on it. She was in tears. His 2000 Nissan had 3 small black marks on the bumper and there was no damage to our car.
My hubby called our insurance company today (they were great)and then will call this jerk later when he won't threaten to rip out his tonsils......

BTW - will whoever got a group shot in front of the Chart Room please post it when you get a chance? There wasn't enough time to do the "Here take one with my camera" thing!
Thanks!!

Dang...I missed the Chart Room gather because I was across the street at Rum Barrel with TC Mitchell, waiting for a chance to get up on stage there. TC made it; they ran out of time before I could.

But Tall Paul and the folks of Calypso Nuts apologized to me, and there's always next year.
It was phantastic to meet so many of you there, to catch up with some of you I haven't seen since last year, and to just *be* in Key West.
I already posted elsewhere about having a drink at Captain Tony's on Saturday night. It was a moving moment.
Sadly, I was the one to tell Nadirah about Capt. Tony, over at Blue Heaven later in the evening. I guess everyone else thought she already knew.
And I got to eat my Cuban Mix at El Siboney - it was only a block away from where I was staying!

I saw you but I didn't know it was you! And while I realized you probably cut your chin, it didn't look all that horrible so I'm glad you stayed and enjoyed your vacation.
I'm afraid I've also earned a membership in the Sista Slip 'n Fall club..... Or trip 'n fall, in my case....

I spent this evening in the emergency room after the sidewalk in KW reached right up and grabbed my foot on Saturday night.... My arm is ver-ry many interesting colors and yep, I put a nice crack right across my elbow.... I don't even have a decent excuse.... I was sober....

Oh no - another BNer down!

They are very nice at the hospital, aren't they? So is your elbow broken? Are you in a cast? That sucks!! So sorry you joined the club!
Did you use to have your pic in your avatar? I was standing at street fest next to someone with long dark hair - we were catching beads that were being thrown off the balcony. The person looked soooo familiar and I swear they are on this forum. Was that you?
Hope you feel better!

Thanks! Well, it could have been a whole lot worse. I don't have to wear a cast, at least. And I didn't hit my head. Although..... In retrospect, I'm so hard-headed maybe if I'd landed there I wouldn't have gotten hurt....
