Yup, John Prine last nite at Carnegie Hall. Four or so duets with Iris Dement who I eyed afterwards as she slummed at the second tier bar. Prine was near Prime and did all his best (near all) in very solid fashion backed by two fine musicians on stand- up bass and electric guitar. Over 2 1/2 hours of a living legend. His songs really make you think and leave me wonderin if I've cracked em. A tribute to Steve Goodman via their tune Souvenirs.
Man what a show!

Had my Menage a Tour T-shirt on for the show. This was the name of a tour that Steve Goodman, Arlo Gutherie and David Bromberg were to have made in 1984. Steve's untimely passing brought that to an end.
Thought I ran into Iris Dement after her four tunes but my pal Epler assured me it was another well booted blonde gal. Would explain her lack of response to my "great show" remark.
