Just saw this thread...

Hey digitalprintman, did you get a photo of Mac, like I did (below) when I ran into him with Bill Payne outside Margaritaville? Or maybe you were more discreet than I was!

We saw him three times over four days the week of Thanksgiving 2004, including at breakfast in Pepe's. We figured we better watch out or he'd think we were stalking him.

This is almost the same thing that happened to me in Jan. except I was in Cameils . His daughters were there and he was recording the guy from Cape Verde.

He was super nice and posed for pics. I was the only one at our table who recognized him ,but you really can't miss the guy when he sits down next to you.

Great story and congratulations to all who have had the pleasure of meeting Mac in KW or elsewhere! :pirate: I've heard he's a truly wonderful gentleman.

We also had breakfast at Pepe's and lunch at BO's on our trip a few weeks ago, but nothing.......except some great food!

Maybe next time we'll see the U-Haul truck at Shrimpboat Sound!

What a great story ! A trip to Key West and meeting Mac. Good for you. We met some of the Coral Reefers at the Berks Jazz fest one year. I remember getting a photo of my son and Mr. Utley in an elevator--once again, so nice about the request for a pic. Anyway, thanks for sharing...

Sorry No Pictures for me. I did have my cellphone and suppose I could have gotten one on it. My camera was in my Harley, I could have gone back out and grabbed it, since the bike was parked down just a little ways from B.O.'s. But opted for just enjoying the whole experience.

I did get a picture of Mac walking into the studio, it was taken from by the historical marker, so quite a ways away. It's Mac's back in the doorway. I can zoom in on it and low and behold it's the same green shirt as in parrotdynamo's pic. Probably the same day or maybe Mac has a limited wardrobe. He had on shorts when I saw him, which is typical for Key West. Mac could use some sun but probably has a lot to do with his light complexion.

Still hoping Mac will be playing at Shank Hall on Friday night in Milwaukee on July 18th. Right now Shank Hall has no acts scheduled for that night.

We are also kicking around going up to Madison on Thursday the 17th to catch John Hiatt at the Barrymore. www.barrymorelive.com

This would make a great weekend:

John Hiatt - Thursday

Mac McAnally - Friday

Jimmy and the Coral Reefers at Alpine - Saturday

There is also another posibility:

Yes is in Chicago on Friday at Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island

No matter what, it's going to be a heck of a good time.

Thanks for sharing your Mac sightings. What a great guy. Catch his solo show if you get a chance.
