I mean, we actually find talking about population more interesting then the World Series.

Too funny.
After 2 games ratings are down 12% from last year already. Survivor, CSI and Grey's Anatomy all beat last night's game in viewship.

I really wanted to see Boston vs. L.A....
that would have been a crazy scene on both coasts.
I hope Manny re-signs with the Dodgers. Out west here, we need at least ONE team with an outrageous personality to love/hate,
and ManRam has completely re-energized the baseball interest in this region.
Since my Padres are going into "moneyball" mode

we need something to rally around, and this would breathe some fresh life into the chant "BEAT L.-A.!!!

sorry Chip.... he just won't go there....
He has no-trade veto rights in his contract, and while he's said he doesn't want to go anywhere,
he WOULD jump at a chance to pitch for Houston or Atlanta
just like Jimmy, he's a 'Bama boy

Maybe a few million $$ and all the pizza he can eat will adjust his thinking.
Actually, I really like guys that want to live in certain places, regardless of money. And San Diego would be near the top of my list, too.

11 strike outs in 11 games.
40 atbats and 3 RBI.

That is pretty bad, they are all trying to hard to hit the long ball, including Howard. A couple of questionable calls by the ump at home plate too
Go Phillies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The skies have opened up in Philly. Weather guy says the heavy rain will end by 8:30, then occasional showers the rest of the nite.
Should be able to get the game in. The field drains well.
45 y.o. Jamie Moyer pitching tonite in his first WS
Led the Phillies this year with a 16-7 record. Even though he really stunk in his two postseason games, Phils manager Manuel would never dream of denying him this start.

The game is about to start, and I just want to say that seconds ago I've just heard without exception THE greatest GREATEST rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" in all of my 56.8 years.
Preformed BEAUTIFULLY by Philadelphia's own PATTI LABELLE.
I'm sitting here shaking in my chair.
If you missed it, you REALLY missed it.

Really, Garry??? I guess I'm a 'purist' of how it should be sung.. and she messed up the lyrics twice.
But she DOES have a beautiful voice.

Sorry you didn't like it, Penny. I pretty much agree with the tradional renditions, but MY GOD, that voice.
She really blew me away-I wish I'd taped it.

Rain causes late start and ratings well below previous worst for World Series
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press
NEW YORK -- With a 91-minute rain delay pushing the first pitch until after 10 p.m. on the East Coast, Game 3 of the World Series drew a record-low television rating.
The Philadelphia Phillies' 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, which ended at 1:47 a.m. Sunday, earned a 6.1 fast national rating and 13 share on Fox, the network said.
The previous low was an 8.0 in 2006 for Game 1 of the Cardinals-Tigers series.
The game averaged a 6.5/13 from 11 p.m.-midnight EDT, slid to 6.0/14 for the next hour, then rose to a 6.3/17 after 1 a.m.
The game drew a 28.2/49 in Philadelphia and a 21.6/44 in Tampa. With most of the game in prime time on the West Coast, some of the best ratings outside the home markets came there, including a 9.7/19 in Seattle and a 9.2/20 in San Francisco.
Through three games, the World Series is averaging a 7.7/14, down 23 percent from last year's 10.0/17 for Red Sox-Rockies.
The rating is the percentage watching a program among homes with televisions, and the share is the percentage tuned into the broadcast among those households with TVs on at the time.
