The announcers mentioned the time Mickey Lolich did that in a world series...
His only HR in a 16-year career.

the Red Stripe is for the Red Stripe in the PHILLIES home uniforms and the Victory is for...well...Victory!! Victory is also brewed in nearby Downingtown PA and is a damn good beer.

Really?
The towels seem to be working in Philly, when they didn't in Denver.
The home team is winning, when it didn't in Denver.
The HR's haven't been as predominant in Denver since they started using the humidor. Although a lot of people think that the altitude wasn't as big as a factor as it was made out to be.

Anyone remember how pathetic St. Louis was in the 2004 World Series. I never thought I would see baseball that poorly played in a World Series ever again. I certainly never thought I would see it from BOTH teams. This is just bad baseball. Poor defense. Everyone looks nervous. And very bush league Management moves. I hope Philly wraps this up so we can all move on and hope next year is better.

E-VA!!!

E-VA!!!

E-VA!!!

Phillies have made no mistakes when pitching to Longoria and Pena, unlike the Red Sox. I guess Maddon has run out of magic talks to have with his players.

Howard is very trick-or-treat at the plate, but when he is on he is scary.

I remember back in '80 when the Phillies won. When Tug struck out Willie Wilson, my friends and I just went insane and ran out into the streets with everybody else, banging our pots and pans and just making joyful little idiots out of ourselves.

It was great.

Then, when we ditched school to go to the parade, that was just awesome. The whole city was worked up into such a state that everybody just walked around with a big grin and you didn't even have to say anything. You just knew that they were reliving that moment.

Tonight is just going to be unbelievable.

We're going to have the sound on the TV down and the radio cranked up with Harry and Larry.

Now that we have Tug on the mound again, we can't lose.

Tonight, around 11:40, you're going to witness the birth of a dynasty.

still miserable, and still a ridiculously poorly ump'd game behind the plate.
I can't believe you could let this HUGE game go on like this.

Can you imagine waiting into the wee hours to get this in???

Night WS games absolutely $UCK!!!
Bud Selig (and baseball) is about to blow it big time again by not stepping in here :-?
It may be an "official" game after 5.5 innings..but this is NOT just ANY game!

I feel so sorry for both sides. Miserable playing conditions.

If they pull out the tarp, and can't finish the game, I can't imagine the sadness/frustration/let down, on both sides.

39 degrees in Philly right now. :-?
