Wast'in Away in Boca Ciega Bay...

That's what Kimmy and Breeze were doing. a little birdie called and told me that Kimmy & Breeze were out on the boat and somehow got stuck in Boca Ciega Bay

. all i know is that the engine was smoking and they needed a lift back. breeze was up to his knees in the water. i heard that a fellow boater towed them back. thank god for that. being a fellow boater and having my share of break downs, i can relate all too well. we had to be towed from cayo costa to pineland marina and it cost us almost $400. anyone who knows that area of s.w. fla. knows that's not far at all.
so, throw Kimmy & Breeze a Life Preserver...or perhaps a new engine???
((( Phin Power for Kimmy, Breeze and the boat )))

It ran just fine Sunday on the trailer...
Had better days I suppose...
So anyway, we get home, half the wiring is cooked...went to the R Bar for a snack, came home and the gas tank swelled for some reason, (it's just a little 13' Boston Whaler so the tank sits under the seat), and ruined half of the mahogony trim work that only took 2 weeks to re-do
After about 6 weeks of working on the thing, we got about 15 minutes worth of quality "yachting" in today, then drifted for about another 30 until our friend came by with his boat to haul us in.
Let's see...what it will cost for new wood and to have the engine repaired...today cost me about $33 a minute...oh, plus 15 minutes of fuel

here i was thinking you were in a large bay cruiser thingy that would be used for tourists. thank god it was the whaler and you weren't that far.
i feel your boat pain, for the teak and the engine.
we have a '78 boston whaler newport that we just did all the teak ourselves. bought all new wood and did the millions of coats of ce-tol. we still have to do the teak seat back for the center seat. ugh!
have had many experiences with lower units going and such. talk about your wallet hemorhage!!! that's why we sold our grady white we had down there. the engine was way past it's prime.
we feel your pain, broth-tha

I feel your pain. When I bought my boat, me and my uncle took it out to try things out- ran perfect for 4 hours. It felt like life just couldn't get any better. When we headed in and got to the no wake zone, I throttled down and it just shut off. Dead in the water. Had to be towed up the river. Yet I love boats. There must be something wrong with us boaters. Good luck getting it all fixed up.

I told Carol it wasn't a good idea to dump that watered-down mai tai into the gas tank. She thought the rum would boost the octane.
Maybe that 's what caused the swelling.
glad now that I missed that inaugural trip...
