Cool clear night!conched wrote:So many great photo ops today...from monarch on milkweed to kitty cat playing in leaves...
Decided to take one of the little sliver of a moon over the lake at sunset from our swing in the backyard.
Life is good!

My bald Eagle story...when 'keets 2 and 3 were toddlers, we would let them play out in the front of the townhouse. The bald eagles would circle up and size up if they thought they could haul off with one of them. About once a week, we would have at least 1 eagle swoop down and at about 10-15' off the ground pull up after deciding that they were just too big to lift off with (that and Papa bear was about 10' away and that damn bird wasn't gonna git a chance to git that close to his babies...!!!)![]()

Well this is certainly a FLOCK....the WILD part ...I don't know....Much as I hate to say it...they are pretty much scavengers....They raid the dumpsters in town....and in the summer/late fall live off the dead salmon in the streams.....springparrot wrote:Dutch Harbor PH wrote:Alaskan Sparrows....(Yes bald eagles....they are everywhere...like sparrows anywhere else...)springparrot wrote:

I'd love to see a flock of bald eagles...we have one nesting pair that comes back to our area every year, but I'd like to see more than 2 adults and 2 babies. in the wild.
I know, but they are still magnificentDutch Harbor PH wrote:Well this is certainly a FLOCK....the WILD part ...I don't know....Much as I hate to say it...they are pretty much scavengers....They raid the dumpsters in town....and in the summer/late fall live off the dead salmon in the streams.....springparrot wrote:Dutch Harbor PH wrote:Alaskan Sparrows....(Yes bald eagles....they are everywhere...like sparrows anywhere else...)springparrot wrote:
