Many years ago when I was still working in banking on LI, I had to go into NYC for a day long training class. It was walking distance from the WTC so on my lunch hour I took the elevator up to the observation deck. It wasn't a very clear day but I'm glad I did it.alphabits wrote:Picture taken September 8, 2001 ..... departing NYC on a cruise to Bermuda.

We were there in May 2001, took some shots, and I have to find them, went upstairs to Windows on the world Restaurant, because the observation deck was closed on the other tower. We waited for hours to get up there, and I am so glad we did.

Marcus,
Your pictures are amazing, that is one beautiful spot...
In anorther life you were a photographer, or later in life, you should become one.
AMAZING... The one of the church is unbelievable.... I like the Bald eagles as well, we don't get to see that many in Pa. So that many in one spot is really cool.
Wow, everyone keep them coming...

I'll share one of my boat pictures

This was taken on 30 April 2005 (2 days after I saw JB for the first time in Dallas!!!)
This is taken from the lead barge of M/V The Duke. We were shuffling barges for a larger line Towboat that was dropping off barges in North Little Rock. The picture is facing east just as the sun was coming up. I was working in this fleet part-time on my days off of the Ambulance

One of my friends, Alice, lived there...Her father, Ted Beckett, was the botanist, and Nursery Manager there....We had free run of the place, and it was wonderful!
Knew that one right away! Thanks Shannon...
