That was one of the best things, they're not supposed to celebrate but they all did. They're not supposed to keep score or wins, but they did and so did most of the parents. After the game it was, "Did we win?!?"
And they went "undefeated" and they loved it.
Bryson had one run it was going to the sidelines and turned and ran backwards and just ran in a circle to a whole group of players and he broke through for a long run. That's the one with the guy on the sidelines with his hands in the air. They knew when they did something good and they wanted to celebrate it. And they should.
This is mostly a learning league. Get the basics and next year they will be playing in pads and tackling. But they still want to WIN!

Some stuff from when I was in NY last week for my class reunion ...
Hempstead Lake State Park, it's about 3 miles from where I used to live

This is a local park in Valley Stream, where I grew up. The park is behind my old high school.

That's my high school.

This is Valley Stream State Park. One of the entrances is across the street from the park behind the high school.

No snakes or gators in this park.

But there was a woodpecker.

These are from the 9/11 Museum and Memorial. I had been to the Memorial shortly after it opened but when I moved 2 years ago the Museum wasn't open yet.

The sign by this motorcycle said it belonged to a NY fire fighter. It wasn't in good shape when he bought it so he was going to restore it and get it back in working order. He was killed in the attack. Other fire fighters restored it.

It's hard to see but there are 10 roses on the gas tank. They represent the 10 fire fighters from his house who were killed.

This is part of the TV antenna that was on the roof.

The sign by the display case said this was a brick from Osama Bin Laden's house in Pakistan.

It didn't show up very well in the picture, but there was a rainbow in the Memorial.

People place things on the Memorial. I googled Moira Ann Smith, she was the only female NYPD officer killed in the attack.

The building directly behind the Memorial is the Museum.

The new World Trade Center. That's where the window washers had to be rescued last week. I think it was last Wednesday, I was there Friday.

Re: Photo Op!!
If you go to the Museum, I would highly recommend going online and buying an advance ticket. When I was there the lines at the ticket windows were ridiculously long. My ticket was for noon, I got there at 11:40 and there were only about 10 people ahead of me in line. They started letting us in 5 minutes later. The tickets are $24. The Memorial is free. When it first opened, before the Museum was open, you needed a ticket to get into the Memorial. Now you can just walk in, no ticket necessary.

There was an eagle in the park today but it flew away before I could get another shot.

With Steve Robe presenting a check for $750.00 from the Isle of Iowa Parrothead Club to Patty Frantz and Mary Larson of Team Breast Friends, a local non-profit organization that helps in breast cancer research.
What the heck. Give up one Buffett concert to help save the tatas. Makes sense to me.

Saw this today and was thinking these Canadians don't quite grasp the concept of sailing. You probably can't see it but there are CAN flags on each sail. Actually I saw them offshore yesterday in a small regatta but didn't see this part.

I'm guessing maybe the 1940's or 1950's.Rabbitz wrote:Any idea of the date of that image?
