It is New Years Eve here, and I am having a quiet beer.

So I decided to have a play... (I hope THE surfpirate doesn't mind).

My sister and brother-in-law told me they went to a place called Lake Busbee with their dog over the weekend and saw 2 eagles nests. There was an eagle in one of the nests, the other one was empty. We finally had a sunny day so I decided to take a ride there today.




Do these feathers make my butt look big?


The one on the left must be a female eagle and the one on the right, who's totally ignoring her, must be tired of listening to her crap.






I hung around the nest for almost 1/2 hour hoping one of them would take off and I could get a picture of an eagle in flight. About 5 minutes after I left to walk back to my car, I heard them start squawking. When I looked back, they had just taken off. They flew out over the lake then just kept going and I lost sight of them shortly after I took this picture.


Nothing special, I just thought it looked cool with the sun behind the nest.

So many nights I dream of the ocean, God I wish I was sailing again.

It was in the 60s and everyone had the day off, so we got together for some ribs.

I think we are going to skip out on the half marathons this year, hoping to work in some fun 5Ks, but we are competing in a lot of smoking competitions. We are putting out a big social media push. No, those are neighbors of my sister and brother in law. It baffles me, our closest neighbors were a 1/4 mile away and there weren't any kids are our age, and they have all the kids to hang out with. Usually in one yard or the other. I love where I grew up but it would have been fun to have some neighborhood stuff to do like them.

Milk & honey or salt & limes?

Last weekend was Kansas Day. I shot about 1200 pictures, but it was mostly just politicians.

Not that interesting. But I did get in front of the camera once for a picture. Here's me with the Congresswoman from Kansas and just to prove that I do actually have a shirt with sleeves, and a bonus, a tie and suit.

The weather's getting warmer so look who's relaxing in the sun.

Went to Orlando this past weekend to hang with some friends... one of them worked at Margaritaville for a long time & he wasn't pleased with my tattoo. lol.

Aww thank you so much! My tattoo is pretty simple but I keep all of them simple. I want another JB one!

We did our first full test run on the new smoker last weekend, what a weekend for it. Gorgeous weather, Jayhawks lose to the Shockers, it was a great time.

The party was for his baseball team, the dead beat parents sat around eating while I was out running around getting shot with water guns and cups of ice water and bowls of ice water and buckets of ice water.

Now THAT is a smoker, Jerred.

And those children continue to be adorable.

It's a beast! My brother in law is having a blast with it. I'm not sure how we are going to get it to competitions yet. But it beats having three of them running and breaking down.

I tell you, they are a riot. I don't know how she get more and more personality every time I see her. And he is the stud of the world. Baseball, football, karate, golf, nothing he isn't good at. He missed a few days of school and when he came back they had a test. The teacher told him it's OK, if you do bad you can retake it, you've been gone. He aced it.
