My first trip to southern California ...

The hotel was 2 blocks from the Gaslamp Quarter, lots of bars and restaurants. And a lot of really good beer.

The hotel was also across the strreet from Petco Park.






The hotel right behind the ballpark is where we stayed.


If they're going to have ballpark tours, it should include a photo op with the Pad Squad.


This statue is rather large.

Gaslamp was nice. We also took a ridiculous shopping trip to Fashion Valley.

San Diego Zoo

California Condors, as ugly as vultures but bigger.


This is a bird called a Crested Screamer. I didn't hear it scream but it's kind of ugly.

This is a lousy picture of a red panda. One of the zoo employees said the only thing it has in common with the giant pandas is the word "panda".

This is something called an Okapi. It looks kind of like a zebra got freaky with a horse.

This duck was just sitting in the ocean. It didn't move, except with the current, the whole time I was on the fishing pier. I don't now what type of duck it is, I'll have to go check my field guide.


One of the woodpeckers I saw, a red bellied woodpecker. It's a lousy shot with too much sunlight.

I wish I had brought my good camera with me. This is a red headed woodpecker, the first one I've seen.


The next time I see a park ranger, I'll have to ask if Blue Jays are the gangstas of the bird world. Every time I see one of them fly down to the feeder, all the other birds that are there fly away.


Male house finch, there were a lot of them at the feeder today.


Sharks, but I don't know what type. There were 4 of them, probably in the 5-6 ft. range.

The last picture I posted of myself, I wasn't happy about it and that was back in January. Since then I've got hardcore back into my workouts. Running better than I ever have, lifting more than I have in a long time. Pushups are at an all time high, pullups, I could never do them, now it's fun. Jumping rope, first couple of time it was a hell of workout on my legs. I went for an hour the other day.

Oh yeah, that first shirt was a 4XL and it was getting tight, the other shirt is a medium.

Thanks, I'm pretty stoked. Getting "ripped" has been my ultimate goal and it's happening.

That's because the groom doesn't fling poo when he doesn't get enough attention.
