This is a pretty rare picture, I'm usually on the other side of the camera, but here I am (obviously thrilled to be in the picture).....

Mrs SPH has always wanted to see the Northern Lights, so we were in Fairbanks for the past week to cross another item off her Bucket List. I spent every summer during high school and college (and one winter) in Alaska on commercial fishing boats so I was just along for the ride. We stayed in Fairbanks and made day trips to Chena Hot Springs and Mt Denali and all sorts of places in between.

We went to Denali National Park, but it was so cloudy that we couldn't see the mountain (tallest in North America).
Only the first of September, but fall colors are out in the tundra landscape.

Look what I found in Dublin.
No, I didn't buy it.
There was a Batman sighting.
The first place I went to, The Beer Market, is owned by the Galway Bay Brewery. I had to buy a t-shirt.
The River Liffey

Christ Church Cathedral was across the street from the hotel
Apparently there used to be a TV show called The Tudors. Some scenes were filmed inside the cathedral and these are some costumes from the show.
That's supposed to be the outline of a Viking structure.
