the only way he calls it a career is if it he just cant physically do it anymore or loses the desire to perform. and i dont see that happening.its not like he does a 100 shows a year.when he only performs a total of 20-30 shows a year including the small intimate gigs in remote places why would he ever retire?and when each concert leg of the tour is maybe 4-6 shows then a month or so off who would want to retire?there are enourmous breaks in between each leg.and jimmy takes his own plane not a tour bus across the country.this isnt a touring machine anymore.he just shows up for the show and plays and then does what he wants to do.its the greatest gig in the world!!

To be honest?? it's not Jimmy Retiring that troubles me..
I know that it is to be.. someday.. I am over that..
What does scare me is for the current group of
independants retire..
in no order (just a short list)
Sunnny Jim
John Frinzi
Hannas Reef
Eric Stone
Jim Morris
Hugo Duarte
ET AL..

what scares me is when that pirate crew hangs it up..

Yes

Remember that when Johnny Carson died, Jimmy talked about how he admired the way that Carson retired, and never came back.

Yeah, I do remember that quote attributed to Jimmy. But I have to agree with the BNer that says he'll most likely perform as long as he's physically able and enjoys doing it.

I also remember a recent magazine article where the interviewer asked JB if he planned to retire. His response: "What else would I do?"

Good answer..... [smilie=coolup.gif]

JEEZ, ELLEN.
Just because Johnny retired and never came back doesn't mean he's a lousy liberal. [smilie=paranoid.gif]

For a farewell tour I would try and travel to all his tour show as my bank account would allow. But the time will come and we got tons of albums and even more countless bootleg recording to keep us going.

Most of his books and albums have been delayed from their originaly release dates, so maybe his retirement will be delayed also.

We can only hope.
