Question on a Painting I have

Post by Danny3793 »

Sorry, I am new to these forums and wasn't sure where to post this but found them while searching for information on a painting I purchased recently. The painting is of the horse in Take Another Road, which I can't remember the name of (the lady I purchased it from told me what his/her name was), well this painting was made on April 9th 1977, and was signed by a person named Teri. Do any of you possibly know who this 'Teri' might be? I have also obtained from what I can tell, an original made by Cochran in 1979, this was made in Key West, FL. Any additional information on the horses name and the artist would be VERY helpful, thank you all for your time :).

P.S.: Here are a few pics of both the Horse painting, and the Cochran painting:

The horse's name in the Tales from Margaritaville story "Take Another Road" (and A Salty Piece of Land) is Mr. Twain. :D

(I'm afraid I can't help you with the painting, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone here can!)

Thanks, I couldn't quite remember his name :P. I have added more pics (including the Cochran art piece).

If anyone would like to see his other artwork, his site is: http://www.vaughncochranart.com/artGallery/default.aspx
quote from the site:
Arriving in Key West in 1972, Vaughn started his fishing career and also became an original member of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. "It was a great time to be in Key West", says Vaughn, "I'm not sure how I survived."

Hehe, it does stand out, who ever painted it did a very nice job. I am surprised at the condition it is in, especially for it being roughly 31 years old.

If you mean the spot on the horse painting, that was caused by the camera I took it with (Camera Phone), I will replace it with one I took with a real camera :p. Thank you for pointing that out, I totally forgot that my phones camera was going bad lol.

There we go, got the new image up, took me a bit :P .

Great painting of a beautiful Appaloosa. Looks very simular to the one I owned in the mid 70's. Wish I could find a pic to share, you'ld be amazed how closely marked they were.

Nice purchase......
