Next week is "Country Week" on AI and that should be a good thing for Kristy Lee Cook and should be ok for David A (there are so many country ballads he can sing).

Hopefully we can finally get Ramiele or Syesha outta there.

I still think this is going to come down to a fianl 4 of: David A, David C, Brooke W and Carly S (although I would prefer Michael J. to Carly).

Kinda weird that the "Country" guest will be Dolly Parton (a little "long in the tooth" for the average AI fan). Might have worked better with someone like Sara Evans or Faith Hill or LeAnn Rimes.

Syesha? :o Are you kidding? She's got more talent than more than half of who's left! Let's do a Whitney Houston night and see how anyone else does. Syesha would blow them all away!

Found out today that Simon had a go at Davids "weird" song choice ...

"You're the Voice" by John Farnham would have to be one of the best songs of all time ............
I don't think he was saying that the song itself was bad, but it was a bad choice for him to sing. The performance wasn't that great, imo.

Let's not do a "Whitney Houston Night"..please...;)

Music is a "subjective" thing and for me personally I am not a fan of Syesha's singing (now do I think she is a gorgeous woman? TOTALLY YES!!) :)

I still do not know how Ramiele, Kristy Lee and even Jason Castro are still there....

With this being country week, I am interested in seeing what songs the 2 rockers choose (David Cook and Carly) and what song Syesha the "soul type singer" chooses. These are not my favourite type themes (reminds me of the year they did "show tunes" and Bo Bice sang that horrible song from Pippin).

Well we had "Dolly Parton" week on American Idol (I would have much preferred seeing a "country" themed week than suffering through 9 "Dolly Songs" but for me the "bottom 2" should be:

Ramiele M.
Jason Castro

And for me I am hoping Ramiele goes.

I watched it at the weekend and you are right. He did not have the vocal range to sing it. It should have been done in a much higher pitch. Done right - it is a most amazing song .... and much better if you have bagpipes included in the music .....

Wow, you have ESP!! Syesha did that "Dolly/Whitney Houston" song last night and I thought she was great. But Simon hated it... :x

Why did they do Dolly songs? :-? Glad that is over!!

I just got to watch last nights performances. Ramiele and Jason Castro are my bottom two.. Kristy Lee, who I haven't really cared for, sings country well. I think Syesha missed too many notes. :-? Ramiele needs to go.

The bottom three was right on, and the one who went home, deserved to go.

She did Whitney/Dolly and it wasn't that great. Her Dolly was better than her Whitney. She was only the fourth (maybe fifth) best from last night. (Carly, David A, David C and Michael Johns were better).

I know...the geriatric ward is alive and well on AI!!

I believe they are even having Neil Diamond as a mentor later on this season (another of the "older" performers). I guess we will get versions of "Sweet Caroline" or "Song Sung Blue"...etc

I am a bit of a Neil Diamond fan, but I don't know what to make of him on AI. We'll have to see I guess.
So if we pick on the age of some of the other 'mentors', what would they call Jimmy Buffett if he was a mentor on American Idol?? [smilie=happydance.gif]

And really, shouldn't they just call it what it is?? 'Famous singer that is popular with a certain age group so we can help to boost our astronomical ratings even higher by expanding our demographic up to the next age bracket?' 8)

Won't miss Ramiele. Although the last three that have gone out, while not favorite singers, did amuse me with their personalities- her for trying to play up her petite size so much and those awful fake pouts.
