He has an alright voice.....if he was doing broadway or something. He just sings flat, IMHO.

David Cook can sing.....but he comes off as EXTREMELY cocky......and that just turns me off to him.
David A has the tweenie girls all a ga-ga, so that is a big push. They vote like crazy.

I don't think David C acts as cocky as Michael Johns who went away a few weeks ago did.

This is a very weird Top 5.

i thought david c. had the best night. jason on the other hand just seems like he doesn't want to be there anymore. his performance lacked the usual charm and free spirit charisma.

See, I never thought Michael Johns was cocky at all.....he seemed very genuine to me.

David Cook.....he just rubs me the wrong way. :-?

That's what makes it more interesting! if we all liked the same ones it would be totally boring.

I found Neil Diamond week on AI ok - not spectacular in any means but some good performances.

I ranked the contestants in this order for this week:

1) David Cook
2) Syesha Mercado
3) David Archuleta
4) Brooke White
5) Jason Castro

I did not like either of Jason's performances and I did not like Brooke's first (sounded worse than "Shrek" singing it!).

For me Jason should be going home but if it is Brooke that is ok with me too (she could have gone last week too).

If we could vote out a judge - Paula would definitely be on her way after last night! She should never take up any job that requires fast-thinking (firefighter, paramedic, ER nurse, EMT, etc) - we would all die!!
Yep on all accounts!
Ditto that yep!!

I think David A is going to end up winning because of the tween vote. I think David C will do well, probably better, if he doesn't win.

Sheysa (sp) has a future in movies or theater.

Jason Castro. . .I don't know what he'll do.

Brooke. . .can't stand her.

Tonight's result was one I've been waiting weeks for! :D

DialIdol be damned. I told you not to be surprised if Syesha was in the bottom two despite DI having her in first place.

Bye-bye Syesha (next week).

Brooke seems like a real nice gal.. very sweet. But her voice just didn't hold up to the others. It's not horrible, but not strong enough. (Course any of them are better than me! ;) )

Jason Castro's singing is just too weak. I hope he's next. Not personal, seems like a nice person, but he just can't hit the strong notes.

I think AI has a way of trying to build drama by placing one of the best singers of the night with the worst. I would have been shocked if Syesha left last night instead of Brooke.

Seacrest never said they were the bottom two.......he just left them for last, but he never did say they were the bottom vote-getters.....like irish said, I'm sure they did that just to build the drama.

I have liked Brooke from the beginning.....I like her style of singing, her personality.......that being said, I think she probably was the one who needed to go home. Her last few performances have not been as strong and I don't think her voice holds up to some of the others.

I think Jason needs to go next.

I agree, we saw Chris Daughtry last night open up for Bon Jovi, I believe the best thing that happened to him was not to win. He and his band rocked and he came out and sung Blaze of Glory with Bon Jovi and his voice blew Jon's away.

votefortheworst.com is most likely going to jump on the Jason Castro band wagon. Their track record this year doesn't seem to be as strong as years past. So far, they only seem to be extending stays by a week or so. It's nothing like the Sanjaya nightmare.

You're right, that was some sneaky manuevering on the part of AI. I like Brooke too, but never thought she was the best singer. I like Jason too, and agree that he should be next. After that, then it will get interesting...

Couldn't disagree with Brooke being the latest to "get the boot".

I can see Jason C. being next, followed by Syesha and leaving us "The Two Davids" for the finale.

With next week being "classic rock" week David C should shine and I expect Syesha to do ok too (I will watch for her to do a Tina Turner tune!).

I am still "betting" that David A. wins this darn thing and that David Cook has the better career.

The scenario I am expecting is for Jason Castro to somehow squeak into the final three with some votefortheworst help. That would mean Sheysa goes next unless someone totally bombs. She's grown on me a bit lately. I'd rather see her in the final three.

I wonder how David A. will do with Classic Rock?

Best case would be for Castro to go next followed by Sheysa. That leaves the two Davids with A winning it.

Overall this year, none of the singers really strike me as amazing. Then again, Carrie Underwood and Daughtry are steep competition.

I think David will truly come into his own when he is finished with AI and can do his own thing. He's my favorite this season.
