Jason Castro could always be the next trop rocker.

This has been my thoughts all along......that's the vibe I get from him!bocanuts wrote:Jason Castro could always be the next trop rocker.
I've thought that he's the one I'd most like to sit in a bar and hear. But it does seem like he's been mailing it in lately.bocanuts wrote:Jason Castro could always be the next trop rocker.
I agree with you.cdnkeywest wrote:Couldn't disagree with Brooke being the latest to "get the boot".
I can see Jason C. being next, followed by Syesha and leaving us "The Two Davids" for the finale.
With next week being "classic rock" week David C should shine and I expect Syesha to do ok too (I will watch for her to do a Tina Turner tune!).
I am still "betting" that David A. wins this darn thing and that David Cook has the better career.
The best thing that could happen to David Cook's career would be to finish second. That way he could manage his career on his own (around the mandatory AI tour). Cook has a much better chance at a lengthy career than Archuleta. Male soft pop is not a long term lucrative market and that's what Archuleta would wind up singing for the teenyboppers. He'll probably be a lot like Clay Aiken: a big splash and then.......gpblxbeach wrote:I agree with you.cdnkeywest wrote:Couldn't disagree with Brooke being the latest to "get the boot".

BUT my hubby says if David A. wins I better be ready]
next season to DVR Because Cook is the one that is best. And it won't
be on in our house.![]()
Guess I get to voting for Cook
Clay Aiken has (had?) a heck of a lot more personality than Archuleta does. Archuleta seems like a soft-love-song type, like a Michael Bolton, but younger and more stiff on stage. I don't understand how the judges drool over him every dang week. I would have voted him off long ago. He doesn't have "it", IMHO.SuperTrooper wrote:Male soft pop is not a long term lucrative market and that's what Archuleta would wind up singing for the teenyboppers. Historical footnote: I actually took my 2 teen keets to see Clay on his first tour. The show was actually pretty entertaining. He opened with "The Streets Have No Name" by U2.![]()
I'll ditto this and will add that I agree with Randy 100% on Syesha's second song. Sam Cook's "A Change is Gonna Come" was too big a song for her to try and mess with. She ovesang some parts and even though "it meant a lot to her" I didn't feel the soul in it.cdnkeywest wrote:They had their "Final 4" week on AI last night and I must say there was definitely 3 performers who were all good in their own right and one "dread"ful performance.
Personally speaking here is how I ranked the 4 contestants but you could swith #1, #2, #3 all around depending on your personal taste.
1) David Cook
2) David Archuleta
3) Syesha Mercado
4) Jason "you gotta go this week" Castro
Jason's first performance (Bob Marley tune) was awful and actually his singing was a little better in the second song (Bob Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man) but he forgot a line in the song and just "ad libbed" till he picked up the lines again...at this point he is definitely the "Weakest Link" and has gotta go!
Just my personal thoughts....
Take more stupid audience phone questions, probly....OttoCal wrote:So what do you think they are going to do to try to drum up some suspense?? I think it is pretty obvious that Jason's 9 lives on the show have run out, and that he is going home tonight. What are they going to do to fill a whole hour with what we already know will happen???
Well we get to watch Maroon 5 perform as well as see Bo Bice perform too.OttoCal wrote:So what do you think they are going to do to try to drum up some suspense?? Yeah the questions are lame- except for that 'Simon's First Kiss' lady. That was funny.cdnkeywest wrote:Well we get to watch Maroon 5 perform as well as see Bo Bice perform too.OttoCal wrote:So what do you think they are going to do to try to drum up some suspense?? I have to admit we tape the show and then watch it in about 20 minutes after that - can't stand all the commercials or the viewers calling in and asking questions!
oh yeah, me too. But I still don't think there is any hope for him tonight. And well done for him to make it this far- I am sure the brought him in for a little weird edge and never thought he would make it to the final 4!!!Dally wrote:He might be going home tonight......but I would rather listen/watch Jason Castro over Little David Archuleta any day of the week.
I don't even watch, I just check Thursday morning on the internet to see who went home. Or sometimes I'll tune in the last 5 minutes, the rest of the elimination show is crap on a stick.cdnkeywest wrote:I have to admit we tape the show and then watch it in about 20 minutes after that - can't stand all the commercials or the viewers calling in and asking questions!
