This has been my thoughts all along......that's the vibe I get from him!

He's my favorite on the show!

I've thought that he's the one I'd most like to sit in a bar and hear. But it does seem like he's been mailing it in lately.

I can see Jason C. being next, followed by Syesha and leaving us "The Two Davids" for the finale.

With next week being "classic rock" week David C should shine and I expect Syesha to do ok too (I will watch for her to do a Tina Turner tune!).

I am still "betting" that David A. wins this darn thing and that David Cook has the better career.
I agree with you.
BUT my hubby says if David A. wins I better be ready]
next season to DVR Because Cook is the one that is best. And it won't
be on in our house. :(

Guess I get to voting for Cook [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

The best thing that could happen to David Cook's career would be to finish second. That way he could manage his career on his own (around the mandatory AI tour). Cook has a much better chance at a lengthy career than Archuleta. Male soft pop is not a long term lucrative market and that's what Archuleta would wind up singing for the teenyboppers. He'll probably be a lot like Clay Aiken: a big splash and then.......

Historical footnote: I actually took my 2 teen keets to see Clay on his first tour. The show was actually pretty entertaining. He opened with "The Streets Have No Name" by U2. :o 8)

They had their "Final 4" week on AI last night and I must say there was definitely 3 performers who were all good in their own right and one "dread"ful performance.

Personally speaking here is how I ranked the 4 contestants but you could swith #1, #2, #3 all around depending on your personal taste.

1) David Cook
2) David Archuleta
3) Syesha Mercado
4) Jason "you gotta go this week" Castro

Jason's first performance (Bob Marley tune) was awful and actually his singing was a little better in the second song (Bob Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man) but he forgot a line in the song and just "ad libbed" till he picked up the lines again...at this point he is definitely the "Weakest Link" and has gotta go!

Just my personal thoughts....

Yeah, I've been kinda amused by Jason all along, and have generally liked him, but he really gave no reason for anyone to vote for him last night.

I doubt Castro survives tonight. If he does, I'll be shocked. The other three were MUCH better.

Clay Aiken has (had?) a heck of a lot more personality than Archuleta does. Archuleta seems like a soft-love-song type, like a Michael Bolton, but younger and more stiff on stage. I don't understand how the judges drool over him every dang week. I would have voted him off long ago. He doesn't have "it", IMHO.

I'll ditto this and will add that I agree with Randy 100% on Syesha's second song. Sam Cook's "A Change is Gonna Come" was too big a song for her to try and mess with. She ovesang some parts and even though "it meant a lot to her" I didn't feel the soul in it.

Jason's number is up I think

I think last night was it for Jason. His first performance I think was weak at best, he may look like Marley but he definitely doesn't sing like him. Then forgetting the words in the second song. I just don't know how you make it through after that. Strongest of the night I think was David A. then David C. At this point everyone remaining is looking at a recording contract for sure, its just time for the best of the best to rise to the top. My money would be on David Cook, he has star appeal already I think.

I'd almost like to skip to the final and see the 2 David's go for it. I really liked Jason at one point but he seems to not care about winning much since Beatles weeks. I will be amazed if he makes it thru tonight. David Cook should be the winner, no doubt. I have to admit David A has a fantastic voice and although he is a little stiff, I try to remember he is very very young. He seems to be the most humble and has shown no talk back attitude all season. I like that because it shows he is open to grow and willing to listen. Really that is what the judges comments are intended for imho. Jason forgetting the lyrics was the last straw for me after doing Bob Marley that ws the last chip to fall. Guess we'll see tonight. :wench:

So what do you think they are going to do to try to drum up some suspense?? I think it is pretty obvious that Jason's 9 lives on the show have run out, and that he is going home tonight. What are they going to do to fill a whole hour with what we already know will happen???

Well we get to watch Maroon 5 perform as well as see Bo Bice perform too.

I have to admit we tape the show and then watch it in about 20 minutes after that - can't stand all the commercials or the viewers calling in and asking questions!

Yeah the questions are lame- except for that 'Simon's First Kiss' lady. That was funny.

He might be going home tonight......but I would rather listen/watch Jason Castro over Little David Archuleta any day of the week.

oh yeah, me too. But I still don't think there is any hope for him tonight. And well done for him to make it this far- I am sure the brought him in for a little weird edge and never thought he would make it to the final 4!!!

I don't even watch, I just check Thursday morning on the internet to see who went home. Or sometimes I'll tune in the last 5 minutes, the rest of the elimination show is crap on a stick.
