David A was weak to me.. and keeps trying so hard to keep his eyes open (suggestion from Andrew Lloyd Weber) that's it's hard to watch him sometimes.

Syesha is very talented and so is David C.. I like these two more, but who the heck knows how the vote will go.

Dial Idol seems to think it's going to the 2 Davids in the final. I thought Syesha did a good job but didn't really like her song choices. I really think David C is going to sell a lot of CDs.

Thanks. Yes, it's from our room at Grand Lido Negril in Jamaica. My wife's avatar and sig are also from there. It's heaven on Earth for us.

Agreed--I think David C is going to get the crown...at least he's who I've been voting for. Of course, all of three of the remaining contestants will probably end up with record deals...I dunno about Justin Castro though...

 Ever since Sir Lloyd Weber's suggestion I can't help but think the same thing...maybe it would be less painful if he wore sunglasses? Roy Orbison style ones perhaps?

8)

Maybe the eye thing is the awkward part for me too!

I am just hoping that David A. is left to grow up at his own pace (I don't believe everything you read/hear on the entertainment shows) but I am hoping his dad is not going to "ruin him".

I think David C (or even Syesha) being a little bit older (in their 20's) will be able to handle all this if they win - imagine what it will be like for David A. if he wins and having his father "front and centre".

I am still "holding out hope" that it will be a Syesha vs David C final but I also believe the vote wil be David A vs David C

Being up here in Canada means I cannot vote so at least I do not have any "vested" interest/time spent voting. I can just watch the results happen and enjoy (or not). :)

Vote for the Worst is actually backing David A.

Seysha has grown on me. I think she'll go to Broadway.

David Cook is my fave. He's got the Daughtry appeal.

Honestly, I can say I'm sad. I kinda wish we could have three in the finals.

Well this season is going to be pretty anti-climatic.....

Why would they let TV producers pick music? In previous seasons they had long time record producer (and head of the company holding the Idol recording contract) Clive Davis pick the 3rd song. You almost had to wonder if the TV producers had it in for Syesha since they chose a really mediocre song from "Happy Feet" to sing. :-?

Once Brooke White started falling apart I knew it would be a 2 David finale. David A has been mediocre lately. I don't think there are enough teeny-boppers and grandmas voting to get him the win. Let's hope the folks who will try to run Cook's career during his first record deal don't screw him up! :x

I did find it interesting that Cook's audition was an "accident". Check out this story on FoxNews:

Brilliant!!!! :pirate:  8)

Actually, this kind of thing doesn't really seem to be a stretch at all.
With the ability to record yourself with professional mixing capabilities of ProTools, and a home PC,
producing a master disk of quality sound is a piece of cake nowadays.
Get your hands on a couple burners and you can have hundreds of copies produced quickly.

That he may be a local talent already out there in... Mizzou... hardly qualifies himself as being a ringer

Very good night. I hope little A wins so that David C doesn't get roped into the AI crap. David Cook is by far the better sing IMHO.

[smilie=coolup.gif] to David C. for singing Collective Soul. They are my 2nd favorite next to Buffett. Good to hear Randy J. say he loves Collective Soul. Also good to hear David A. sing Elton John (a close 3rd favorite of mine). It's a tough call...I like David A.'s voice, but David C.'s personality and stage presence. I think David C. would sell more cds and draw a bigger crowd but I'm afraid David A. has the teeny bopper votes.

I checked dialidol.com this morning...just because I was curious.... and it says that David Cook wins....but it has been wrong before....I think it will be close....

After watching the finale, Mrs cdnkeywest and I both agreed this time (it is a surprise!) :)

We both think that David C. should win this whole thing, David A. is so one-dimensional and all his songs just sound the same (I have to admit he has a nice voice but he has not yet developed into a performer). I totally disagreed with Simon when he said that David C should have sung something he did before - no, doing something new was awesome (especially Collective Soul)! We felt "Imagine" that David A sang again totally lacked the magic of the first time he performed it.

As this is a "popularity" contest we are expecting David A. to win but David C. should have the better career!

David C deserves to win, but I still think he'll have more success if he isn't roped into the AI contracts. David A. will end up as the male version of Hannah Montana. :D
