Can they both lose? And then just have the NFC champion scrimmage for the Super Bowl?

Also in hearing all this one-sided prognostication it does remind me of those same talking heads in 2002 when they said the Patriots had no chance against "The Greatest Show On Turf". Some Pats fans have a short memory or maybe they were not Pats fans when #11 started the season as the #1 QB. Just food for thought

That's crazy enough to work!MKats31 wrote:I'm pretty sure who ever scores more points will win the game.....I'm not sure, can someone double check for me?
Well, there is another way to look at it. Yes San Diego had a disappointing postseason last year but the Patriots also lost the AFC Championship game last year by 4 AND gave up their first half lead. So by your argument, this game would qualify no matter who won.jonesbeach10 wrote:That's crazy enough to work!MKats31 wrote:I'm pretty sure who ever scores more points will win the game.....I'm not sure, can someone double check for me?
Also heard an interesting trend in the AFC.
It seems that the past few SB winners had disappointing play-offs the year before. Pittsburgh lost to NE in 2005 after going 15-1 during the regular season, but went on to win the SB the next year.
In 2006 Indy had a disappointing loss to 6 seed Pittsburgh, but won the Super Bowl in 2007.
Last year, it was San Diego that had the disappointing loss, blowing the big lead to the Patriots.
So who know? Maybe this year it's San Diego's turn.

No more than the previous trend of 5 SB winners (Rams, Ravens, NE, TB, NE) who missed the playoffs the previous year.drunkpirate66 wrote:aeroparrot wrote:Well, there is another way to look at it. None of that matters.
Just a trend . . . which obviously could be broken in 15 days.SuperTrooper wrote:No more than the previous trend of 5 SB winners (Rams, Ravens, NE, TB, NE) who missed the playoffs the previous year.drunkpirate66 wrote:aeroparrot wrote:Well, there is another way to look at it. If I were a betting man . . . which I am not . . . but if I was I would bet on the Chargers today WITH the 14 point spread . . . but I would take the Patriots without the spread . . .
I really do hope LT, Gates, Merriman, and Rivers are healthy and play. I want to see the best possible game . . . as much a homer as I am; I don't want the Pats to get a gimmee because of Bolts injury.
With Merriman, Phillips, Cooper, and Wilhelm at Lineback . . . and Mcree and Hart out there at Safety with Jammer and Cromartie at Corner there is no reason to think that the Bolts are not worthy of being in this game as alot of people think.
Hoping for a good game.
SD nine points down with 3:30 left. Pats have the ball driving and eating up clock. I hear the fat lady warming up her singing voice.Wino you know wrote:Those poor Chargers.
It's half time, and for some reason, they still think they have a chance to win this game.
