alternate Here We Are

Post by rich_big »

I am currently listening to Rad Marg playing

Party At The End Of The World Tour
Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View CA
Tuesday April 25th, 2006

it seems that Here We Are is slightly different than the one I know. I have always heard the one where he says "Dave Mathhhhhhhh--youuuuuuussss". on this one he says "Dave Matthews".

how many different versions of this song is there?

Fins is on right now, please excuse me while I fin to the left.....

At least two. The live version and studio versions differed on that one line.

Live version?!?!?!?! I've never heard that? Where can I get my hands on it? The setlist database says it was never played live.

Oops, I didn't mean live version. I meant the version first played at concerts. That version differed from the final studio version.

I believe the first version played at concerts was lacking background vocals and some lyrics had a little different twist, as mentioned. Somewhere in the middle of the '06 concert season they started playing the newer version, which is on the TTWWY cd.

edit: Looking back at the old setlist threads, it looks like the newer version was first played 9.12.06 in Detroit. I was there, but I think my ears were full of water by then.

Can you tell I'm just sitting here waiting on an email that isn't coming?

From what I remember, the first one sounded like he sang it better or with more feeling. I don't like the way he sings the churning burning parts. Sounds like it was done on the fly. The Dave Mathews reference is lame too imo but hey that's just me.

Thanks for the info.

I also do not like the Dave Matthews ref. I don't think he's good enough to get juice in a Buffett song.

I just got it off of one of the FTP sites from the '06 Bristow show. I used to have that on my iPod before TTWWY came out and listened to it a million times. I never noticed that it wasn't the same version. I definately prefer the newer one.
