The food at the hotel wasn't bad, but there are LOTS of great places to eat in Newport within a 15 minute walk from the Hyatt. We also do have these things called cabs...![]()

If people are looking for lodging on the island without staying at eh Hyatt or Viking, there are several decent options within a 10-15 minute drive. In Newport there's the Best Western Mainstay Inn and Quality Inn Atlantic Beach, for starters. There are also *several* inns and B&Bs in Newport that run great winter rate specials.
In Middletown (one town up the island) there's Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn, both on West Main Rd.
The Econolodge in Middletown is right on West Main Road and is reportedly pretty noisy from traffic.
Stay away from the Pineapple Inn (shudder) and Motel 6 in Newport (it's across the street from the waste water management plant
).

We're staying at The Marriot on America's Cup drive, and the room is about $125 for Saturday night.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:If people are looking for lodging on the island without staying at eh Hyatt or Viking, there are several decent options within a 10-15 minute drive.
