Okey Dokey ..... after a long year ...... including moving cities ...
I have to say I AM PROUD OF ME!! (and yes - this is a shameless self image thread

)
I went from a workplace where I was made to feel that I could not communicate with people at any level ...... that I could do nothing right .... and instead of dropping my bundle and quitting like many before me .... I took the bull by the horn .... and moved to Sydney - start a new life and WOW!!!
Last week - I had my boss email me to go see her for feedback ... I am in an anxious state - as surely this is not good - and she gave glowing feedback - how my one difficult person now loves working for me ..... how everyone is happy .... what a good job ... etc etc ....
of course -with low esteem - I say "but" ... and there was no buts ....
I am still unwell - to a degree from my previous work - still medicated - but I am so proud that I am fighting it - not giving in!!
But - a special thank you to BN!!! There are some special people on here that really help when I have my moments - particularly molly - who I would email about "chocolate" from work (our codeword) when I was having a bad day ..... to just pick up the phone and call her in the middle of work and talk ... (must mention my aussie buddies as well!) to Penny ... Renee .... and many others - that just lent an ear ... or eyes to emails ...
There is just so much negativity again on BN - with people hell bent on flaming others - I had a team member leave yesterday to move interstate and his farewell speech says it all - in that it is so much easier to come in and smile and be nice to people - than it is to react to people ... so that is what I am going to try and do from now on - he has the BEST outlook on life!
Again - I also had the bestest trip to the USA - with some very special people helping to create some special memories - a trip I would not have been able to take with my medical condition unless I had faith in the people I was visiting - so THANKS!

Congratulations, Jenny! Keep your chin up!
But remember, a lot of the negativity on BN right now is that so many people in the US are SO unhappy right now; economy, climate, current administration, housing slump, summer (and any upcoming JB tour) so far away, Christmas is over, only New England teams are in the Super Bowl, etc., that they can't help being negative, as they are just stressed. Those of us who live in kinder places just have to understand.
Anyway, you have done great, you have a right to be proud of you!

Well I don't entirely understand it! We have watched a little... we used to live across the street from Sir Garfield Sobers in B'dos! (He is nice!) My Jimmy understands it better. It is popular here, but not as popular as on some of the other islands. There is more village cricket on some of the islands. The kiddies do have Saturday cricket in our neighborhood park. The Windies Brian Lara lives here... did you know he just broke his arm playing regional cricket? Just after he had hit 123 against Guyana or something! There will be more after Carnival is over. There is a good pub, The Bat and Ball, at the Oval.

Cool - Lara was a good batsman!!! There is only one other BN'er who has any idea on cricket - that is Aeroparrot as he is of indian heritage (who we just beat!) ..
One day - my dream is to go to the Windies to watch the aussies play cricket!

Several of the Windies are of Indian background also. In fact, here in Trinidad, 40% of the population is Indian. But the Aussies tend to be very fierce when they come here, and nobody is happy over the dismissal of the Jamaican ref down South Africa recently. Cricket has recently seemed to lose some of its gentility. People make remarks they would have held in the past.
There were several groups of people playing on the Savannah last Sunday when we drove by, a very leisurely Sunday afternoon sight, all the players in white against the green grass under the blue Caribbean sky!! Makes you want to drag a lawn chair out there, even if you don't entirely understand the scoring.

yep - we got our own issues about the manners in cricket in our series V India .... it is all out of hand and quite silly really.
I love watching it ... we have a India Aust one day game on TV tomorrow - cannot wait!
