At Gobblers Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, before a crowd
estimated at 30,000, the legendary groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil,
emerged from his tree stump at 7:26 AM Eastern. Phil saw his shadow,
thus predicting six more weeks of winter. This is Punxy Phil's 122 annual prediction.

MARION -- It's been a warm winter for the Buckeye state, and it's apparently ending a little early this year: at sunrise Saturday morning, Ohio's own furry forecaster Buckeye Chuck failed to see his shadow.

According to tradition, that means an early spring instead of six more weeks of winter.

As a native to Pennsylvania and one who has always found this whole "groundhog thing" a bit absurd......

This is my annual reminder that there really isn't a lot going on in PA come early February!!!!
