Posters, please remember that as the salsa becomes available in your area, don't post in this thread. Instead, start a new thread, i.e.,

Margaritaville Salsa now in Ohio...
Margaritaville Salsa now in Idaho...
Margaritaville Salsa now in Arizona...

Margaritaville Salsa

Post by fins91 »

I found the salsa at the Walmart in Rockton, IL, which is northwest of Chicago. We tried it last night and it is pretty good.

Looks like you're the first one to taste it. Did you get the regular or Paradise Fruit?

Y'know...that was my first thought too. I don't mind the tequila, but Landshark tastes like something from a shark with a bad bladder infection.

margaritaville salsa

Post by Wolfcry97 »

I just tried the Margaritaville Salsa and it is great! Actually quite addicting. I can honestly say it is my favorite salsa, and - like other mentioned - was not too keen on their shrimp and chicken products.

No, I am not getting paid to say this. I found it at Sam's Club and was very surprised on how good it is.

Just wanted to share this info... if you can find it, try it!!!!

You are correct....it's another reason to soak them before cooking on the grill, wrapped in bacon.....yummmmm....

I second that.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

I saw it in a local Wal-mart a couple of months ago....kinda rolled my eyes & went on. Figured I might try it at some point. I tend to make my own instead.

-Not a big tequila drinker, but the one bottle of original I had was about what I expected.
-Landshark is a good summer beer....you know, when you want water but there isn't any cold
-Don't do chicken wings much, so they don't interest me.
-Coconut shrimp has been done to death. I don't like it fried anyway. Island lime was disgusting. Too much fake butter flavor. The jerk shrimp was pretty good though.

To each his own.... I don't care for the coconut or the jerk shrimp but I really like the lime. :)

The coconut shrimp is OK, but it has to be well done so it's crispy.
As for the salsa, we'll give it a try....

I got some over the weekend. It's ok. I prefer homemade salsa anyway. I'll stick to making my own. The "medium" is very mild, not hot at all.

For those of you that are having trouble finding it, it's refrigerated, I kept looking next to the Pace on the shelves, but it's in the refrigerated thing in my store near the sour cream and stuff...

I tried the Paradise Fruit...not bad really. It has a nice sweet flavor but I'm thinking of adding some heat to it to give it a little fruity zing or sting, depending on what I add to it!

Try the Key Lime Shrimp with some fettucini, now thats not italian but its tasty!

While at the Margaritaville bus this weekend, I ask about salsa in this area and was told it had been released EVERYWHERE...then why can't I find it here?
We had the largest Kroger in TX open a few weeks ago a mile from our house and today I had 3 department managers hunting it down....guess what---NO LUCK.
They had no idea what I was talking about.

So, I've sent an email to margaritaville salsa

I saw some in the refrigerated section of Sam's Club, but I'd rather try a smaller jar than the 1/2 gallon!  And they only had one variety, which was mango or fruit of some sort (thus preferring a lesser initial investment).

Are there smaller jars in stores?

The one I bought at Wal-Mart is maybe 12-16 ounces, in a plastic tub thingy, like you would get sour cream in, but clear.
