Here's an idea - RE: posting
I have said a few times - I am tired of the negativity - it is BOTH that are at fault most of the times - posters, responders, newbies, oldies ....
so here is a thought ...
* If someone posts something you are pretty sceptical about - there are a couple of good ways of going about responding or finding out - to save having "popcorn" scenes - first is you can ignore it .... or second - PM a moderator and ask if the person is a scalper, or a spammer ..... confirm BC your doubts before putting them out there and causing a scene.
* If a newbie so to speak posts something you think is rude - well - we were all new once - maybe they are just excited about finding a Buffett site they can chat on ..... maybe they are just misguided - as we have found in the past - they apologise - did not realise what they were doing - so .... here is an idea - if a newbie posts something that you find to be maybe rude, ignorant or whatever - don't be a smart *ss and write something rude back or sarcastic - welcome them to BN in a friendly way - and maybe give them some guidance on what they spoke about than being rude/sarcastic back them. They might have been wrong to post their thread - but two wrongs don't make a right.
I suffer from an illness where BN is one of the things that I use to help me - and seeing people fight - that don't help. ..... (I know I have not always been innocent of all this myself)

I'd also like to add that all people are entitled to their own opinion and perspective. Healthy debate is fine but there have been a few times where I've seen individuals and groups really gang up on people over some rather trivial statements (this goes for non-Internet life too). You don't have to agree with everything everyone says, but it's unnecessary to get bent out of shape over the small stuff. Pick and choose your battles people. Life is too short to get worked up so easily.
