Jones Beach - August 27, 2008

Went to Jones Beach back in '04, a to do since I was in Orlando at the time and the Hurricane was coming (they closed the airport), so I had to drive to Atlanta to get a flight to LaGuardia.

I had the tickets and my friends were already in Manhattan, but I ended up getting there earlier (with a connection) than what I would have if I flew out of Orlando direct.

We took a limo to the show and partied inside. I was surprised that we couldn't drink at the show though.

Anyone else getting a bad feeling that he isnt coming to Jones Beach again this year?? I remeber last year we had a rumor of an end of June date at Jones Beach, but it never materialized.

It looks like most of the dates are out already for the summer tour. There are very few of the 'regular' stops that havent already been released.

It would be pretty upsetting if his only stop in the Philly/NJ/NYC area is CBP. I'd be schocked if he doesn't add one more show in either AC, Jones Beach or MSG.

I am still hoping for a JB @JB show. He has been playing there every 2 years so there is some chance. I'm just getting nervous that a NY date has not been announced. I really don't want to go back to MSG, I will miss the tailgating. At least I'm going to Phila. & Mansfield.

i don't mind MSG when he does Camden during the summer and then MSG in September since it gives me 2 shows to go to and at least one is at a good outdoor venue. but having 1 at CBP and the only other local show at MSG will be disapointing, as well as expensive. outdoor shows are great because lawn seats are cheap, but at these stadium and indoor shows you have to pay top dollar and you still can barely see the stage

Yep, I hear you. I was at Gillette stadium last year on Labor Day weekend, paid top dollar, and could barely see the stage. And forget about the sound it was terrible.

If he at least was going to Camden, that would be ok. But I just dont like stadium shows

Montauk and the BVI....2 of my favorite places...we hung up our Liar's Saloon t-shirt on Jost at One Love....and we spotted an old Liar's t-shirt at Bomba's!

I'm getting nervous too. When could it be? The week before Philly just filled up. Maybe the week after? I don't see him jumping from 6/14 to 6/28 without dates in between. And if it is that week, why not announce it? Unless it is NOT happening.

Sometime around July 4th, which would be a mini tour combined with Mohegan Sun like he did 2 years ago. Or August 26th or 28th. The August dates fit nicely around Atlantic City the w/e of Aug 23rd and Nissan Labor Day w/e.

Don't give up hope as we still have these 3 possibilities available.

Yeah, the 12th makes sense. I missed that. When I said the week before was already gone I meant those 3 quick dates that were announced: 6/5, 6/7, 6/10. But the 12th is still available. Then he could break for a month after Philly and pick up on 7/17 in Cincy. Do you think he would break up that hiatus by doing a July 4th weekend show? I don't know about that.

Sorry about that. I checked. You are abosolutely right. He did two random shows- Mohegan/Jones Beach - dropped in the middle of the tour in 2006. So there still is hope. Maybe a 7/3 Mohegan and 7/5 Jones Beach? Then he goes out to the Hamptons until the next leg. Sounds good to me.
