I live in Huntington Beach, CA. The perfect place for a Margaritaville...Come on Jimmy we're Surf City, USA (BARF!) We have a ton of new construction downtown at the beach right on Pacific Coast Hwy....That's our A1A, overlooking the beach. You would have an employee for life, ( my history is in food management) and I'd personally bring in all the local Parrotheads!

I hate to agree with Larry, but IF I never hear CiP again that's okay....That's my BRB song.

Wow, BN is such a great resource. I hadn't heard that CIP in York had closed. In fact, we planned to meet friends there this Saturday evening to discuss our upcoming Key West trip! :o

My wife & I were just there last month on a Saturday evening as usual (we live about an hour away). Like most weekends we'd been to this location the place was packed, drinks were excellent, and the food very good. My wife had commented that no matter when we visited the wait staff was exceptional for a chain.

I would have never imagined this restaurant was on the verge of closing: full bar, people waiting for tables......guess it was the other evenings during the week it wasn't busy. However; there are tons of chain restaurants in the area and the CIP location, while right along a major highway, was hidden somewhat by a small hill. If you didn't know it was there or missed the sign you could have gone right by.

I do feel sorry for the staff. Hopefully, they all find other jobs soon!

Been to CiP in York. Good food, cool atmosphere.

They had very odd hours though. Most days they were not open for lunch. It's located in an area where many "office people" are always looking for a place to eat lunch. I never really saw the place being promoted either. Sad to see it go.

Gee, a cheeseburger for lunch. What a brilliant idea!

Good points TT....

Whatever the reason I, too, hate to see it closed. :(

There were never any CIP's in Raleigh or Durham or anywhere in the NC Triangle area, that I know of, and that's a kind of a BIG small town!

Or did I have too much rum?
Huntersville's pretty much an extension of Charlotte. That location is about 2 miles off Lake Norman in a very busy area. But again, they've tucked it down a side street.

Don't know if they were cheapo's on the real estate purchasing/leasing, but it certainly appears that way. The one in Asheville was close to the mall, but up the road and up a hill back off the road.

Even MB is on 17 Business, but kind of between Myrtle Beach and Restaurant Row, with few restaurants around.

It's almost like they figured people would search it out based on the brand alone

Same experience here. Two in the KC area (at least last time I checked.) One is only mildly difficult to find, the other @#$!%$@# near impossible unless you're pretty determined.

And just a general comment... first time I went to one, atmosphere, vibe were great - felt like Jimmy's kind of place. Since then, though, seems almost like they're downplaying any kind of Jimmy connection in favor of an "Applebee's with palm trees" kind of thing. Plus, the staff went WAY downhill (terrible service, lot of standing around chatting) and I think the food quality/quantity had dropped as well.

Disappointing.

Columbus:

Northside: down Polaris Parkway past the curve, break left, semi-visible from the main road; not visible from the interstate

Westside: semi-visible from the northbound freeway lanes, counterintuitive way to get there: turn right, follow around curve and then left, turn into parking lot, try to find it there.

Atlanta/Dunwoody: nearly impossible to find, off a road at the back of the mall. Can't be seen until you are at the front door.
I have been there several times and still need a map to find it.

Indy/Fishers: Tucked back in off a side road. not visible from road, not visible from interstate.

Indy Southside: sorta visible, tucked on a sideroad requiring some winding and twisting too. The Carraba's is more visible.

The same here. I went to one and as we were leaving, I whispered to the waitress about the terrible live music that they had. The waitress agreed, but said that the musician was the manager's husband. People, I mean it was horrible music! I was not the first one to complain about the music. I hate to see them close down. I hope the employees find other jobs.

Interesting, when you google CIP the first result is the official site. Which starts, "Jimmy Buffett owned chain..." :o

We still have Kalamazoo open, about an hour away. That one was always much busier than Lansing was, anyway.

Isn't SOASOAPT on permanent vacation at the Atlanta CIP. Do we need to go on a rescue mission before it's too late???

I've only been to one, in Charlottesville, VA. It was a nice enough place although the dinning area looked more like an after thought, it was setup mostly to be a bar. The food was good if a little pricey, we're talking a basic cheeseburger here. It was the drinks that were really over the top, in price. Would I ever go to another? Probably, but I would never be a regular to any of them not that I ever will be a regular to any of Jimmy's restaurants as I don't see him locating any in NH, ever.

They are building a Margaritaville in New England technically, but Connecticut is more NY than NE and about a 3 hr. drive for me. I would have thought it would have been in Boston but Connecticut has the casino's so...
